@Katelin_McD Same here Katelin. I have never thought about user experience when writing before. This course definitely taught how important having the audience in mind is. Because user experience is directly tied to the audience's needs and wants. #engl318mu
@mstoltzfus15 I have almost the same steps as yours. One thing I missed that I saw in other's process is peer reviewing. During this course, we have done tweets on peer reviewing others' projects. That helped a lot, so now it is an essential step of my writing process. #engl318mu
@CommradeIvory I agree with you John. Purpose is also what the audience want and need from your writing. So studying who the audience are is very important. #engl318mu
@nosstalgic93 My process is similar to yours. I forgot to put in the peer review step into mine. I definitely got ideas and revised my writing from the peer review twitter replies during the course. #engl318mu
In this course, one major point I learned that will help me with other writing in the future is understanding and studying about the audience. This will not only give me the idea and the purpose of my writing, but also set the tone and vocabulary use of it. #engl318mu
I understand the purpose of writing by what I am writing. For example, I will write about my own ideas on my experience for reflective writing, and data&details for informative writing. Thus, understanding the audience's needs is the key to understanding the purpose. #engl318mu
My writing process includes a couple steps. The first step is thinking, thinking about what to write. Next will be drafting. This also includes making an outline of headings and subheadings. Then, it will be the actual writing and revising at the end. #engl318mu
I found 2 easy ways to understand user experience for my project platform: Youtube. The first way is the likes to views ratio. A ratio of 4 likes per 100 views or more will be perfect. The second method is through reading comments and interact with the viewers. #engl318mu
Through the course, I learned how to understand the audience. There are a couple main aspects: age, gender, education level, culture, language. After these are determined, the next part to be focused on is what this specific audience group wants and needs. #engl318mu
@Zander51486625 I agree that your text is a little too small to read. With all black background and big pictures, it make the text even smaller. So change that up and it will be better. #engl318mu
@hrkauff1 There are a lot of bullet points. I don't know if you can merge any of them together, e.g. "the space and the elements of Instagram". Your parallel development is consistent, but it's a lot of "about". I am thinking put the "about" in the main heading may be better. #engl318mu
@TTihansky Great layout! All information is clear. Instead of having a slide-like rectangle inside a page, why not use that back ground for the whole page and take out the rectangle? It is only my suggestion and I don't know how it will turn out. Try it out. #engl318mu
@WebWriterJim1 For me, all the words on this slide is legible. I am not sure how a darker background will look. You should've posted both for us to pick which one is better. Anyways, this slide looks good to me. #engl318mu
@madiggs1 I like the design. Yours is better than mine because I pretty much only used paragraphs for my different steps. One thing i can think of for improvement is changing the font size. It appeared a little small to read or maybe it was because you took the pic with phone. #engl318mu
@hrkauff1 I can totally understand what you are trying to explain in this slide. My suggestion for this would be using one big arrow instead four small ones since they all lead to the same place. #engl318mu
@alyssamancusoPR I like your bullet points and subheadings. It makes everything clear and easy to read. One suggestion from me would probably be parallel development of the list. #engl318mu
#engl318mu This is a screenshot of my How to Write Guide. This step I talked about some important points for writing a Youtube video description. Tell me what you think about my writing and my subheadings, and what I have missed.
I do not eat much snack. Here is a picture of my dog, JOJO. He is a 2 y/o golden retriever. I guess my "snack" is playing and chilling with him. #engl318mu#drpgame
Here is a strategy analysis page for Vsauce, one of my three scientific example Youtubers. I clipped a couple screenshot of his videos to show specific strategies that he has been using. Is there any suggestion for improvement, or anything? Thank you!! #engl318mu
