Blizzard please. For everyone hooked on this fiction since ~2004 -- bring back the grimdark-esque Warcraft that actually called for adventure.
The whimsical peace-loving nonsense, mixed with try-hard morally grey characters and cosmic dread monologues, just isn't interesting.
Do the writers actually just hate the lore that built this world?
The new stuff is boring and they're wrecking all the beloved lore that got us invested.
Who the hell is this even for?? I'M SO CONFUSED
At the risk of this being taken the wrong way, by far the most frustrating thing I keep hearing from Holly and the Gang whenever they do press is some variation of, "We want Warcraft to be for Everyone!"
Stop trying to make it for everyone. We're already here. Make it for US.
@PlatinumWoW654 A "clean slate" only works if the writing team can actually build something with weight. Warcraft 3 set the blueprint for this exact scenario and it worked. Midnight has been a far cry from that. If this is the setup, why would the reset be any different?
imo, The Arcantina feels like the canary in the coal mine for where Warcraft’s tone is heading. It leans into a whimsical, cozycore vibe that just doesn’t feel like Warcraft anymore.
A shame, because it looks stunning. Imagine if it had uneasy faction tensions inside, with brawls breaking out in the lower levels. ⚔️🔴🔵
Watching Warcraft drift toward a cozycore, more whimsical tone while its faction identity fades has been hard to see.
I really thought we had hope when Metzen returned, but nothing has changed?
I miss the epic, brutal escapism this franchise used to offer.

Blizzard is clearly trying to cater to too many audiences at once with WoW. You can't run a hardcore mmo and a cozy life sim at the same time without eventually losing the plot.
It’s exactly what we predicted years ago. Nothing kills WoW but WoW itself. They are just shooting themselves in the foot.
Design 101: Identify your audience and cater to them. How does a AAA studio forget this?
Lothraxion describing the end of worlds while handing me a piece of furniture for my house is such a strange disconnect.
Quest rewards used to be a tool for world-building, but now they just feel like a checklist. Hard to stay immersed when the RPG logic is this broken. 💀
@TheoryWiseOS Your faction, race, class, and the leveling process should be just as immersive, informative and foundational as the end game.
The journey used to mean something. Bring it back.
