@LordHanson Vitest (smartly) implements Jest’s same API, and it uses Chai under the hood for assertions so you get best of both world and a nice DX

@LordHanson With Bun & Vite getting traction everywhere (particularly Vite in numerous big frameworks now), Jest will naturally die I think. We use Vite & Vitest at my work on 150K LOC TS code base with thousands of tests and it runs nice.
@LordHanson Don’t bother with Jest mate, go straight to vitest. I had the exact same less-than-average experience when I went from mocha+sinon+chai to Jest, and I was simply like why…this is rubbish ? 🤷♂️
@pebblesteps I run a work-issued M1 Pro with 32GB for work web dev (inc local Adobe AEM server & local .NET core API servers), it’s a beast ⚡️🤩 I also bought a Mac Mini M2 Pro (32GB) for my home / personal projects…and it’s also a beast 👍 Apple silicon is just remarkable 😍😍
@troyhunt@Gaper_io Are you still going to be supporting haveibeenpwned in this new role Jason ? 😜😬 I guess that’s what happens when you have such a photogenic noggin mate !! 😉
@shanselman@ankursoniji He should check out the Stack Overflow Engineering interview about running all of Stack Overflow on just 9 “old skool” servers. Just because it’s shiny & new doesn’t mean it’s entirely necessary.
