@ACarl8610 @KenKirtland17 There is not Mark 1.5. This is just a prototype Mark 2. They did this so they don't have to waste so much resources for a spacecraft that won't even go to the moon. This prototype is not capable of landing humans on the moon.

@DarnPersce @FastSloth87 @Mookafish The point is to reduce reliance on SLS rocket. Currently it costs over $2 billion just to launch it once, and it can only be launched once per year. By eliminating the SLS rocket, Starship (which is much cheaper) can perform the same role essentially while also needing less fuel.
