The EU is a massive body of work with decades of consistent storytelling, character depth, and earned consequences. Cherry-picking one obscure novel or moment to say "see, Disney is fine" ignores the overwhelming majority that proves the quality drop. You can't defend the new canon on its own merits so you hide behind tiny fragments of the EU while attacking the rest. That's not representing the EU—that's weaponizing scraps to cope. If I could tell you the story of how the dark side destroyed the beautiful dream of what Star Wars could be and manipulated it, twisted it until it was an unrecognizable Frankenstein's undead monster of bastardizations, it would begin with a man named Filoni. He took the foundation Lucas built and started chipping away at it with contradictions, retcons, and a vision that prioritized his own pet projects over the established lore. From there it snowballed into the full Disney era where nothing was sacred and everything could be twisted for the next show. The EU had its issues but it respected the core dream. Filoni's approach turned Star Wars into something that barely resembles what made it special in the first place. Real fans can trace the rot back to those early cracks he introduced. The monster didn't appear overnight—it was built piece by piece starting with him.

Somebody will sit there and tell you they like both canon and EU, and when you ask them in all sincerity how they reconcile the drop off in quality—because it's absolutely alarmingly glaring—they just start naming the canon stuff they like. I asked you a question, can you answer it? Stop deflecting with your favorite Mandalorian episode or Andor season and actually explain how the EU's depth and consistency became this shallow corporate product without any loss. Real fans who know both see the decline plain as day. Pretending it's all equal while dodging the quality gap isn't nuance—it's coping. Either admit the drop or stop claiming you love the EU when you clearly prefer the watered-down quick and easy tv version. Answer the question.
