Presided over the opening of the New Khalifa Mosque in Bula Khalifa, Garissa County, a magnificent waqaf and act of Sadaqa-tul-Jariah built by the family of Abdullahi Umar Maalim Sanbur in memory of their late mother, Mama Bahila Farah Guled.

Surah At-Tawbah (9:18):
"The mosques of Allah are only to be maintained by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day and establish prayer and give Zakah and do not fear except Allah, for it is expected that those will be of the [rightly] guided."

The modern mosque, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, will accommodate hundreds of worshippers and serve as a centre for spiritual growth, learning and community engagement.

I commended the family for their generosity and underscored the vital role of mosques in fostering social cohesion and community development.

In my remarks, I also called on security agencies to firmly implement H.E. President William Ruto's directive to combat drug and substance abuse, noting its link to insecurity and rising crime.

The New Khalifa Mosque stands as a landmark of hope, faith and the enduring power of philanthropy for the people of Garissa County.

In attendance were a host of leaders including Garissa County Commissioner Ramadhan Mwabudzo, Garissa Town MP Hon. Maj(Rtd). Dekow Barrow, Balambala MP Hon. Abdi Shurie, Water Resources Authority CEO Mr. Mohammed Shurie, Former Garissa Governor H.E Ali Korane and Former Fafi MP Barre Shill among a host of MCAs and religious leaders.

People attribute the failure of our government to clan wars, hatred, and favoritism. These men are both Daarood. If they were truly driven by tribalism, they would support a new Daarood-majority state. Instead, they are leaving the territory with the Dir-dominated breakaway region of Somaliland.

The creation of the Northeast State itself lays to rest the breakaway region's claim of de facto control. This demonstrates that clan politics is not the primary driver.

The real forces at work are foreign. These men have foreign backers who require the secessionist charade to continue. That is the main engine behind this conflict.

Somalia’s Prime Minister @HamzaAbdiBarre has arrived in Lasanod, the capital of the Northeastern State and one of the largest cities in northern Somalia (former British Somaliland protectorate).

This visit sends a clear and irreversible message to the world:
Somalia’s unity is unquestionable.

The people of the North reject separatism. No single enclave in Hargeisa can hijack the will of Northern Somalis. There is no entity called “Somaliland” that controls northern Somalia—only Hargeisa and parts of Burco.

Reliable sources confirm that following President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s meeting, Harti clan leaders convened in Laas Anod—the capital of the Northeast State—to address both Somalia’s internal and external threats.

Speaking on behalf of Harti communities from Puntland and the Northeast State, the elders stated plainly that Somaliland political leaders who have aligned themselves with Netanyahu constitute a danger. They warned that such an alliance is a deliberate provocation that will almost certainly ignite a broader regional conflict.

Their position was absolute.
They informed the president that they are prepared to pay any price necessary to stop this trajectory.

According to individuals present at the meeting, the Harti clan formally declared its readiness to mobilize more than 1.2 million men to defend the nation and the region, should the president issue the call.
