Remember that before cities incentivized behemoth luxury buildings with tons of amenities, developers built a lot of medium-density buildings that were cheaper to build (and buy/lease).
You didnโt have private amenities in your building, so you were forced to patronize public establishments in the neighborhood to meet your needs.
