@sepia_fw@e_mydata There are alternatives e.g. Signal can handle this w/o Google dependencies, also a lot of apps from Fdroid, but still a lot can't, cause 99% of Android users have Google on their device. Yes Wifi assisted for example. I guess Google does it, since it is not integrated in AOSP.
@cslinuxboy @sepia_fw@e_mydata Nice. That's why I said microG is good cause AOSP lacks this. But how were push notifications handled before this latest branch? Cause they were working before?
@sepia_fw@e_mydata Firstly most importantly "push notifications" a lot of apps relay on "Firebase cloud messaging", on a pure AOSP you often don't get notifications from a lot of apps. Second a location Backend that helps to improve GPS. Since GPS isn't too accurate and doesn't work indoors.
Wieso wird Attila Hildmann überhaupt von manchen als #Verschwörungstheoretiker bezeichnet? Er ist ein durchgeknallter Extremist und präsentiert sich mit #Nazi Symbolen!
@GabiAMitchell@SelinArpaci@Mitvim And with all this I don't want to draw lines that devide us, since I strongly believe we are all just humans no matter where we were born.
@GabiAMitchell@SelinArpaci@Mitvim With all this. In the end the definition or just the name Middle East doesn't matter that much. But it's clear that Israel is a part of the region it's surrounded by. Which is not Europe. 4/x
@GabiAMitchell@SelinArpaci@Mitvim Yes I know a lot of Jews came from Europe and especially the Russian/Ukrainian diaspora is big. But still it feels weird. The geography is not Europe at all. The language is still Semitic even with lots of influences. And for me this is a question of geography not how you feel.
@GabiAMitchell@SelinArpaci@Mitvim I see where this comes from. Since relations of Israel with its neighbors are complicated to say the least and that at some point they were looking towards Europe. But their language, culture and geography are tied so deeply to the Middle East.
@BradtGuides Been there! It's stunning, but av shame that most people only come to visit Jordan for Petra and Wadi rum. Clearly these are the big sights but I also enjoyed the north around As Salt and Umm qays a lot!
@jessofarabia With this logic you could calculate the number of synagogues in a lot of countries compared to the Jews left and conclude a few Jews each have their own Synagoge...
@jessofarabia I know it wasn't about Aya Sofia. Yes the logic is so weird. Of course there are thousands of churches and few Christians left. They kicked out the Greek after the war of independence and killed Armenians and Assyrians and the ones who survived left just wanted to get out.
Unfassbar, alles.
@jessofarabia But to be fair, and I really don't like the situation here in Germany. Government and stupid people make it really hard for Muslims to build mosques which seems really unfair.
@jessofarabia That's the same logic as Trump. Less tests less cases. In this example: Make most Christians/Yezidis/Jews leave and claim that the ratio of places of worship vs believers is high.
