History is adamant and at times draws very surprising parallels!

Gen. Muhoozi’s rapid rise through the rank and file of Uganda’s armed forces reminds me of Joseph Kabila, son turned President after the assassination of his father Laurent-Désiré Kabila, the president of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, who was killed inside his official residence at the Palais de Marbre, Kinshasa on 16 January 2001.

Joseph was at an army outpost hundreds of miles from the capital Kinshasa when he was informed that his father had been assassinated.
