@HansiSidhe@basedbinkie Wouldn't make sense. Hope yearns for the Age of Myth, the time before Authority. All of the Fundamentals apparently hail from that time, in one way or another - Though Patience is a bit of an oddball in that regard.
@klone135@archeohistories The Capitol wasn't finished by Lincoln's presidency, and the White House was originally planned to be replaced. His death, and the photographs taken of DC telling the story, was what saved it, and led to a MASSIVE build out in the late 19th century, starting with the monument.
@klone135@archeohistories "Drain the swamp" isn't just a pithy turn of phrase. The District of Columbia was a square mile of essentially empty marshland. Intentionally, there was nothing there, so that the capital could be built up in its own, secure area. (Though 'secure' was a bit of a stretch).
@usjonny@JamesStokesLX@dieworkwear Apparently the denim itself is most from India, which (depending on the style) gets tailored in either Mexico, Vietnam, or China.
@_CaptRenegade@linuxfoundation Windows NT from its inception was, and remains, a Microkernel architecture. Most of the "system", even the graphics drivers from Vista onwards, I believe, live in user space.
@Frylockman2034@basedbinkie They are. When you simply cannot throw more bodies at a problem, it forces you to think how you can overcome the limitations of effort, human or otherwise. That pressure leads to innovation, and when that innovation becomes widespread, that becomes 'progress'.
@vxunderground@sankohaindustry It's FinCEN, Financial Crimes Enforcement Network. It's a part of the Department of the Treasury, whose stated role is the investigation of, well, financial crimes.
But since most *other* crimes will likely involve shady or illicit transactions, there's overlap.
@hashtag_swag_@cnlohr It is entirely sarcastic. By the time of Rollercoaster Tycoon, game development was moving more and more towards mid- and high-level languages like C and C++. It was inefficient, but the complexity of managing sound and graphics hardware was becoming unmanageable.
@Waititworks @freebird5825 @Cmdr_Hadfield@Boeing You're right, but NASA have been leaning on them to patch the code and reenable remote operations, so they can unhook it, and get it clear.
@BomberShrimp @h3lp3rm4n@ZealousChoice No, though the bikers were the most famous models of the line. They paralleled a lot of the old Imperial Army range at the Rogue Trader level, but where they really had a strong showing was their Adeptus Titanicus/Epic range.
@Dragon_Samurai0@Bolverk15 In fairness, that's not entirely wrong. While a polearm isn't useful in tight quarters, it was the Boring But Practical choice for many militaries, arguably up to WW2, where the bayonet became functionally obsolete.
@AlucardC99@SomethinNerdy To be more specific, to make a NES game, you need some way around the 10NES chip. There are legally reverse-engineered firmware packages to replace the chip with a modern microcontroller. Famicom games, however, don't require this. Japanese studios made their own carts.
@CenturiiC Rome's other foundational myth - The Aeneid - declared that Pizza was the sign of the god's chosen land.
It just took until tomatoes for the rest of the world to realize the truth.
@mechagodzull569@animeoutsiders Yeah. You're forgetting the days when translation companies would edit down the show for broadcast, or even chop around multiple series to make a wholly new show out of the footage.
@pimoroni Regarding the Cosmic and Galactic Unicorn, would it be possible to get a copy of the images used on PCB? I'm designing a case for mine, but I want to preserve the artwork across the back.
