Ironically the writer Kelly Ng is a Singaporean
As a matter of fact…
Malaysia hosts 215,000+ registered refugees and asylum-seekers. About 126,000 are Rohingya.
That is a load Singapore refused in 2015.
Singapore’s line then was simple: “we are small, we do not take refugees, send them to a third country.” Malaysia became that country.
A community that stays for >10 years will want work, school and a future. Naturally Rohingya refugees will want more and fight for more.
Temporary shelter that never end ➡️ becomes a settlement question
Malaysia is now dealing with that, while others write lectures from their comfort zone
Be thankful Malaysia absorbed what richer neighbours would not
Last but not least, DO NOT pretend the social cost is imaginary
After a certain age, your parents slowly become your children. They ask simple questions, repeat stories, and depend on your patience the way you once depended on theirs. Very few understand this role reversal. What looks like innocence or inconvenience is really time coming full circle. Don't correct them harshly. Don't rush them. Care for them the way they once protected you. This is not a burden. It is repayment.
What you’re seeing here is called an in vitro experiment. “In vitro” literally means “in glass.”
Scientists place cells or bacteria in a dish and expose them to very high concentrations of a substance.
Cells die.
But here’s the key point:
Many things kill cells in a petri dish.
Salt.
Alcohol.
Vinegar.
Caffeine.
Even distilled water.
The human body isn’t a petri dish.
In real life you have:
Adsorption.
Distribution.
Metabolism.
Excretion.
This is why in vitro studies are only the first step in science.
Unfortunately, they’re often used online to claim:
“Chemical X kills cells!!!”
Yes. So does whiskey. 🥃
Dose and exposure matter.

if you choose A WORKING WOMAN, you must accept that she CANNOT manage a house full time by herself. if you choose A HOUSEWIFE who can take care of and manage the household completely, you need to accept that she DOES NOT MAKE MONEY and you will have to provide for everything. if you choose a SUBMISSIVE WOMAN, you should accept that she DEPENDS on you to lead. if you choose to be with a STRONG WOMAN, you should accept that she is STUBBORN and has her own thoughts and ways
being religious doesn’t mean you’re a good person. faith without kindness is just performance. beliefs don’t matter if they’re not reflected in empathy, accountability, and how you treat people when no one’s watching. character shows up in actions, not in labels or rituals
- doing your hair or makeup and realizing you look really good today not for anyone, just for you.
- laughing so hard with your girls that your stomach hurts.
- being emotionally safe with someone, no fear, no walking on eggshells.
- seeing results from something you’ve been consistent with (gym, work, healing).
- saying “no” and not feeling bad about it.
I'm kind of an absent friend like i will love you with my whole heart and go out of my way to give you any help you need but I tend to live in my own world and suck at keeping up communication and I'm really sorry to anyone who takes that personally.
After you get married, you’re going to meet ‘better’ people than your spouse. You’re going to meet more good-looking people; kinder and more romantic people; more intelligent and funny people. You will meet people who have in abundance what your partner lacks. The mushy and romanticized idea that your partner will be everything to you, and will satisfy all your needs and wants is idolatry. Contentment in marriage is a virtue not often spoken about.
You must wake up every day appreciating everything your partner is to you, everything they have, their beauty and the things that made you marry them because if you focus on everything they don’t do well, you’ll always meet better people. Protect your heart! See their best part, and always remember that your commitment to marry is more of a duty than it is of mushy feelings. You have to stay committed even on the days you feel your spouse is no longer the best fit for you…

If you dig in European soil, Iraqi soil, Egyptian soil, Syrian, Yemeni, Iranian and so on wherever Jews have lived throughout the centuries, one might find Jewish artifacts. That's how archeology works, but just like any random Jew doesn't get to claim "landlord" status over Europe or Egypt and so on, he cannot claim relevance to Palestine just because there are coins bearing a menorah. A Jew living in one place at one time in history is not a place holder for every Jew anywhere at anytime to claim the land from the indigenous people who have always inhabited the land.
their fairytales might sound convincing the absence of critical thought, but they are fairytales nonetheless. One just needs to apply minimal scrutiny.
I know queer doctor who worked in a rural hospital that didn’t have enough manpower in paediatrics, so they’d work beyond their shift. Also know straight doctors who cheated on their spouses and slept around. Not saying one is better but orientation doesn’t determine your values
THE BLACK STONE
The black stone is just an ordinary stone like every other stone, but we Muslims believe it's an Islamic relic that dates back to the time of Adam and Eve.
Umar (RA) the 2nd Muslim caliph – came to the Black Stone (performing ṭawāf, circumambulation), kissed it, and said, “I know that you are a stone; you do not cause benefit or harm; and if it were not for the fact that I had seen Allāh’s Messenger (PBUH) kiss you, I would never have kissed you.”
ʿUmar has made it clear that kissing the Black Stone is by no means done as an act of devotion to it, as people used to do with their stone idols.
I have some theories about why Singaporeans are less attractive than our cousins in the region:
1. Ultra-high population density. Highest of any country in the world, higher than HK.
Imo this is the root problem, many of the following issues stem from it.
2. High population density means high air pollution, high noise pollution, elevated humidity/temperature (urban heat island effect), and lack of privacy.
All of these factors cause elevated stress levels, which affects physical development.
From what I've seen, these problems are significantly more pronounced in public housing estates than in private housing estates
E.g., most public housing flats are no more than 30m away from a moderately busy road, which means significant air/noise pollution.
Also public housing estates tend to have significant localized (in the immediate area around blocks) pollution from cooking/incense.
I've measured in several locations (renting) - PM2.5 and VOC levels in public housing across the country tend to be quite bad relative to WHO recommended levels.
3. Most Sinkies try to hide from the noise and air pollution by closing everything and turning on the AC, but this causes a host of additional problems - exacerbated by our tiny rooms.
E.g. I reckon most Sinkies sleep in 1600ppm+ CO2 rooms (not good at all).
VOCs and other pollutants accumulate in our small, enclosed rooms too.
Plus, using the AC in our dusty, hot, and humid environment means mould inevitably grows in many peoples' split AC units. This has actually been a major concern here - lots of anti-mould companies and some MSM articles about the problem..
4. On top of low-quality sleep and high stress levels from environmental conditions, we also have a lack of sleep and high stress levels from work/school.
Put it all together and you get an island of gremlins.
Travelling overseas or even visiting friends in private estates is always trippy for me - a lot quieter, calmer, and often cooler.
It should come as no surprise that our cousins across the region look far healthier than we do on average.
Slight tangent on productivity: I've long been curious about why @govsingapore refuses to invest in living conditions at the state level.
They pump stupid money into trying to "raise productivity" through training etc, and the ROI hasn't been great.
But they refuse to put resources into figuring out healthy high-density living - which will raise productivity.
You don't need a study to know that if people sleep better and have less stress from environmental issues you'll see improved productivity - we've all had amazing days after a good night's rest.
Some may say: "well this is a private matter, people can fix up their own homes".
That's just daft. Individuals don't have the resources to develop things like household ventilation systems that can fit in HDB flats and have fresh air exchange with a heat exchanger.
Even if you somehow manage to import/develop such as system, it is not easy to get it approved by government bodies.
Our country is a literal gentrified shithole with elites living in an alternative reality of their own imagination.
They seem to think if that they "swap out local stock for higher quality human beings", the quality of people here will improve, but it's been decades since mass immigration began and newcomers in public estates don't seem to be faring much better 🤷♂️.
Paedophilia is still paedophilia, and the perp is a paedophile.
You cannot use marriage and/or pregnancy to legitimise something which is wrong.
A child is a child. Nothing to do with western culture.
Get a grip.
physically: our bodies are not fully developed
mentally: not mature, especially to handle postpartum depression and raising a child
education: nak lahirkan anak ke nak duduk SPM?
financially: how tf is a 17yo gonna care for a child
y’all clearly hate girls.
Latheefa Koya is a lawyer talking about legal matters. Point out exactly where she was refuting the quran. Y’all keep using this fuckass line where it doesn’t apply
