In other words, doing an N or an O task as though it is an L task.
Or, not discriminating between L, N, and O at all and treating all your tasks the same.
Very important to understand.
@eric_seufert In video one direction is opening yourself up to CTV demand, but I could imagine more premium providers looking to have a walled-garden-esque advertising experience which would put them in the same problem space as Spotify.
@eric_seufert I wonder if video platforms will find themselves in a similar pickle? There are other things out there which might run them out of business, but there are more platforms on the video side lacking targeting signals Γ la Spotify for their new AVOD tiers.
@eric_seufert@dmarti Interesting turn of events regardless because ISP's live outside a place where platform owners can force compliance with their terms. Can't imagine their solution will be resilient to VPN usage so I wonder if this might speed up the roll out of default-on VPN's? (Private Relay)
@eric_seufert@dmarti Theoretically UID 2.0 could be used to obfuscate any value while generating a unique identifier. At the same time ISPs have extra knowledge around user IP address (even more so if they pool) sounds like a combination of CAID and UID to me.
@eric_seufert I wonder if they are holding off on doing more than wagging the finger until they release private targeting APIs to go along with PCM and SKAdnetwork because there was definitely room on this slide (pictured) for an extra bullet point....
@pbannist Looking forward to seeing how it improves, I did some initial tests with some common consumer brands (not sure how they rank in Top X sites by traffic) and saved some misclassifications.
@anawatterson1 Hopefully you take this as a sign from the universe that it's time to give in to your strengths and become a video gaming hermit for the rest of college
