If anyone should be trying harder, it is allistic people. I recommend that they try harder to: accept autistic people for who they are, not expect us to change, listen to our concerns, meet us halfway and recognise that their viewpoints and experiences aren’t the only valid ones.
@jessejanderson "Just work on it every day"
"try not to think about it"
"just be yourself"
"be more confident in yourself"
"leave your emotions/problems at the door"
"it's simple"
@Mollys_ADHD 100% I've often been told to land the plan or write down my thoughts before speaking in meetings/with people. I'll either go in to too much detail, or not enough.
@Mqsley Although not healthy, you dont have to eat them to put toward a cause perhaps donate the food? Maybe an offering of fruit and/or carb loaded treats like granola bars could work? 🤷🏼♀️

I get frequent feelings of wanting to create graphic art for to sell like motivational posters and suff but simultaneously think fuck, the Earth and humans over consumption. Same goes with apps, like why clog the space if its not going to make positive change or good?
@ADHDdesigner Holy shit balls, this type of loss can be horrific. Hope you have all the support around you to help you through this time ❤️ Rest in Power ✌️
It’s unacceptable that female and AFAB autistics are more likely to be misdiagnosed with bipolar, depression, anxiety, DID and ADHD than be accurately diagnosed autistic. I doubt that autism is “more prevalent” in males, but would bet that sexism means accurate diagnoses are. 1/
@annagranta In terms of other traits fitting. Emotional dysregulation, all or nothing mentality, impulsivity/ocd, hyperactivity, poor eye contact, fixations I'm pretty sure there's more, I'm just not aware of them yet.
@annagranta I realised I wasn't depressed but I was struggling at "life" in the same ways for the ~10 years (or so I thought). So I did some guideline digging, did 7+ different ASD tests over 3 weeks and all came back >10 pts above the cut off score, ADHD followed like a cherry on top.
@tristajaye I've witnessed managers and leaders do the same shit. I've seen startups tank because of the egos that ran them. Its not a junior problem its an asshat employee problem plus there was an asshat who hired them in the first place.
@ADHDdesigner It's like missing the bus, if you know you have to get somewhere but the bus isn't there yet, I'll do something low effort highly stimulating until the bus comes around again and I can then work out how to jump on it when it's moving 100mph and on fire. All part of the process.
