@BobRae48 a reminder of the reformed views of Martin Niemöller (abv):
First they came for the socialists, … I was not a socialist.
Then … the trade unionists, ….
Then they came for the Jews, ….
Then … for me and there was no one left to speak for me.
—Martin Niemöller
This is not the first outbreak of Expansionist Fever in American history, but in signing the UN Charter, all countries agreed to put this nonsense behind them. As put forward by the US administration it represents a clear and present threat to Canada’s territorial integrity, a breach of Article 4 of the UN Charter. Other countries should take note. Do not go quietly into this dark night.

@deAdder@ElizabethWeir2 While its is noteworthy the French’s brand still produces ketchup in Canada using tomatoes grown in Canada, McCormick & Company (of the USA) owns the French's ketchup brand, since it acquired French's in 2017 when it bought Reckitt Benckiser's food business
@ElizabethWeir2@ElizabethWeir2 Moving, it is so lovely and relatable - I aspire to have the same impact on our children and grandchildren. Being seen as somewhat “goofy” is so worth it.
@JoeBiden as @POTUS has proven yet again he is an extraordinary leader and defender of Democracy and the United States of America. President Biden deserves the utmost respect and appreciation of the entire free and Democratic work!
Wow. He really asked not what his country can do for him, but what he can do for his country.
Must have been a difficult decision for a person with such a long, distinguished history of service.

@DLeBlancNB@DLeBlancNB your dad was a Great man who had mastered the great way to do important things for many people from all walks of life. A special skill by a special New Brunswicker and Canadian.
@ElizabethWeir2@ElizabethWeir2 I have long held the view that Mary Walsh is a comedic genius, with strong cross over capacity in political and social commentary - So in my view you 2 have some things in common.

In the latest “Where Are They Now?” we check in with Brendan Paddick. We ask this former Newfoundland cable mogul and energy exec why he just can’t take it easy.
