#Local935 is proud to celebrate Firefighter/Paramedic Gunner Daunis, who has successfully completed his probation and is now a tenured member of our team!
Gunner’s journey in the fire service is built on a strong family legacy—he is a third-generation firefighter, following in the footsteps of his father, who served with Ontario Fire Department, and his grandfather, who served with Pomona Fire Department. Born and raised in Upland, CA, Gunner attended Damien High School in La Verne, where he played lacrosse before pursuing his fire service education at Mt. SAC, completing his EMT training, Fire Academy, and Paramedic School.
Before joining San Bernardino County Fire Department in October 2022, Gunner gained valuable experience in a wide range of roles. He worked as a grocery store courtesy clerk, rental equipment delivery driver, EMT at McCormick Ambulance, volunteer firefighter at La Habra Heights Fire Department, and as both an ER tech and ER medic at Beverly Hospital. He also served as a paramedic with AMR in El Paso County before bringing his talents to SBCoFD. Gunner currently serves at Station 164s, serving the north end of Upland.
Outside of work, Gunner enjoys camping in his trailer, hanging out with friends, and playing lacrosse. He is supported by his proud family: mother Peggy, father Wayne, brother Cooper, and sister Emily.
Gunner’s passion for the fire service and his commitment to his team and community are clear, and we are excited to have him as a permanent part of the Local 935 family.
