They gathered in Awasi and disgraced a grave. Festus Amimo did not just die he died cheating on his pregnant wife, and instead of shame, politicians and brokers turned the burial into a carnival of moral decay. Men with microphones openly glorified adultery, joked about erections, and insulted anyone who dared defend loyalty to women especially loyal, pregnant wives.
They weren’t defending Amimo; they were defending themselves. Every crude joke was a confession. Every laugh exposed a side chick. They treated Amimo as a comrade because they share the same sickness betrayal wrapped in male entitlement.
A society where leaders mock faithfulness to a pregnant woman is already collapsing. When adultery is applauded at a funeral, responsibility is dead long before the man in the coffin. These are not leaders of people; they are prisoners of their own impulses, loud, shameless, and morally bankrupt.
For the first time, my folks from Murima want the IEBC to be free and fair in the by-elections , after benefiting for years from a corrupt electoral process.
If anyone still harboured doubts about Raila Odinga’s status as an enigma, those doubts can now be laid to rest. At Durham University in the United Kingdom, a dedicated team of professors and researchers has been commissioned to study, analyse, and document the extraordinary life and legacy of Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga, CGH. When academia begins to turn your life’s journey into a subject of scholarly inquiry, it signifies that your struggles and ideals have transcended politics, they have become a syllabus in the school of history. His Name is Jakom!!
@gpdkaluma@RailaOdinga The guy was over the moon. Probably did the condolences coz of his COG position. We will pray for him but for sure one day his sentiments will come back tormenting him.
Council of Governors Press Statement on the unfortunate utterances by the Governor of Nyeri County following the demise of the Rt Hon. Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga, CGH.
What Governor Mutahi Kahiga uttered in reference to Raila Odinga’s death transcends the realm of politics, it is a manifestation of moral decay and spiritual impoverishment of the highest order. To stand before a crowd, seize a microphone, and proclaim that the passing of Raila Odinga was “God’s answer to the prayers of Mt. Kenya” is not merely insensitive, it is a desecration of our shared humanity.
At what point did we, as a nation, lose the sanctity of death? When did political rivalry mutate into a justification for blasphemy against grief? Even in times of war, Africans upheld a sacred ethic, the dead were not enemies; they were ancestors crossing over.
To deride a fallen patriot, one who bore the weight of this nation’s struggles upon his back, is to spit on the altar of our collective history. Raila Odinga was not just a political figure, he was a living archive of Kenya’s democratic conscience.
His imperfections were human, but his devotion to the idea of a just Kenya was historic. If the currency of leadership in our time has become the applause of the ignorant and the mockery of the noble dead, then Kenya stands in dire need of moral reawakening.
History is not written in ink but in memory and memory does not forget. Today, the soil of Nyeri does not rejoice, it trembles in shame. Its leader, once a custodian of wisdom, has traded dignity for momentary laughter. But let it be known, the same earth that received Raila’s body shall one day receive ours.
Mock death if you must, but remember mortality is the great equalizer. And when your own day comes, may the silence of the grave remind you of the words you once spoke in arrogance. Tragic!! 💔
That Nyeri Governor should be arrested for hate speech. He just sparked unnecessary ethnic tensions, if he’s not arrested I will assume he serves the interests of powerful people.
A shujaa has fallen, but the dream endures.
This Mashujaa Day, we remember Raila Odinga, a man who embodied courage and never lost faith in Kenya.
His journey with Mama Ida reminds us that sacrifice is both public and deeply personal.
As his comrade, I pledge to uphold the struggle for a better Kenya, where the constitution is held true, the human rights upheld in it are respected and its democratic promise is realized.
True tribute lies in our actions, not just our words.
