of infection from school children to elderly relatives? We're told it's the imperative of education, yet the Govt is prepared to close schools at the beginning of term to allow mass testing. Isn't this a case of closing the door after the horse has bolted. Is this insanity? 2/2
OK I admit, I don't understand the logic of @GavinWilliamson latest on education. I get, but don't agree, with the Govt's easing of restrictions over Christmas so that extended families can get together, but why wouldn't you close schools early so that you reduce the risk 1/2
So @RichardHRBenyon how's that smart Brexit looking, that you were so confident about back in early 2017? You must be totally bewildered at how your beloved Tories have put together the most incompetent govt of our lifetimes (and that's saying something!) @wb4eu
Does anyone in this country actually believe we deserve better leadership than we currently enjoy, sorry that should read a token of leadership?
We are sinking into an abyss and our behaviour to fellow citizens just shows how low we can go
OK in the spirit of the Age of Cronyism where the Govt tells us its who you know that's all important, I give you sustainable undies from a start up company that is looking for Crowdfunding operated by my son's girlfriend. Please help them by RT https://t.co/tmgggCx4Zr
@johnredwood Such a brilliant plan Bladrick, why has no-one else thought of it? Just a tiny incy wincy little problem, to open a hospital you need doctors and nurses and what you've forgotten is we're some 30k nurses short and who knows how many doctors following years of Tory austerity
What a brilliant idea, countries in close proximity to each other (relatively speaking) form the largest trading bloc in the world pulling down trading barriers. Why don't we do the same? Oh wait @johnredwood https://t.co/VN6K9nVcps
I just heard @DSimmonds_RNP on @BBCNewsnight state that emergency support from Foodbanks are a reason why an extension of free school meals during holidays are not needed. There was me thinking Foodbanks were charities stepping into the breach because of a failure of govt policy
Well blow me down with a feather: a Cttee of MPs has concluded that had we introduced quarantine measures sooner we would have greatly reduced the level of Covid-19 infections. This is the second of a long list of what ifs that many argued for at the time https://t.co/JEupFTcipn
@johnredwood Whose "we" in this instance? The govt hasn't enough trained customs officers and businesses still don't know the terms under which they will be trading, hence the Govt's softly softly approach for the first 6 months to allow time to adjust. Are you against this?
@johnredwood To be able to cross supply with our nearest neighbours builds in resilience should we suffer power shortages. It is not unreasonable in order to supply this resilience, that they demand a minimum amount of electricity is taken. Otherwise we could face blackouts
This is extraordinary, a stalwart of @LeaveEUOfficial wants freedom of movement for pets while depriving 65 million EU Citizens who live in the UK of the same right. Has he not heard of dog kennels?
Reading the @FT I was struck by their lead story on the fall of 25% in GDP between Feb & April. James Smith, ING economist described it as "shocking". Really? the period covered 2 months when the economy was stopped in its tracks, what exactly did he expect? 1/2
@johnredwood Why are you so anti Thatcher's Single Market, and why do you seem so keen to impose bureaucratic procedures onto British businesses? Isn't this the antithesis of what you are campaigning for?
The government said not to move to 2nd homes BECAUSE it would put pressure on less urban health services. (Evidence in thread below)
So by moving from London to Durham (where he admits using their health services) #DominicCummings broke both the letter AND the purpose of the law.
