At this critical time for West Berkshire Council, the Conservative Group makes a big, open, and comprehensive offer to the Liberal Democrats – we are willing and able to assist and help you deal with the financial turmoil facing West Berkshire to the fullest extent possible.
For 18 years successive West Berkshire Conservative administrations kept spending and reserves at sensible levels, at times navigating very difficult financial circumstances, while funding services for our residents.
The #familyfarmtax will cause carnage to UK farming and food production. The Government must listen to farmers and the NFU.
I know they won't want to be seen to U-turn, but there is an offramp for them if they're willing to take it.
My letter to the Chancellor and Minister:
@WBerksLibDems@LeeRJdillon Will he actually do the job if elected?
Or will he have a disastrous 8 months then decide to put his own interests ahead of the residents of Newbury and take a tax payer-funded sabatical so he can try something else?
@ClaireRowles2@LynneDoherty_ Hey Claire! You’re thinking of our Conservative Group rules, which you’re right was done yearly.
The WBC Strong Leader is appointed for four years at the first Annual Meeting of Council after the election, see below.

A reminder that @WBerksLibDems own internal correspondence says that withdrawing the plan had no advantages except "showing voters we're serious", and admits that expert officers didn't think the plan was flawed in any way.
Fix it then. That’s what you promised at the election and have failed to deliver.
Withdrawing the plan would have been reckless. Read the report if you don’t believe us.
Luckily HM Government stepped in and stopped you. That gave you someone to blame (what you wanted anyway).

Unsurprisingly he’s blaming everyone else for his own failures as Post Office Minister during the scandal and has now gone into hiding rather than face the consequences.
Sounds familiar.
Ed Davey’s self-righteousness has caught up with him. Having called for everyone and their mother to resign in recent years, he now faces calls to go over his role in the Post Office scandal. The biter has been bitten, says Patrick O’Flynn
