To sustain Ethiopia’s rapid aviation growth and Ethiopian Airlines’ expanding global network, a new mega hub is being developed alongside Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, which is nearing its expanded capacity of 25 million passengers annually. This multi-airport strategy aims to future-proof Ethiopia’s role as Africa’s leading air transport gateway.

Bishoftu International Airport (BIA) will be the largest aviation infrastructure project in Africa’s history. It aligns with Ethiopia’s national economic reforms, industrialization agenda, and long-term aviation strategy. The project will strengthen Ethiopian Airlines’ global competitiveness, enhance Africa’s connectivity under the AfCFTA framework, expand trade and tourism corridors, and position Ethiopia as a premier intercontinental hub.

Located about 40 km southeast of Addis Ababa at an altitude of 1,910 meters, Bishoftu offers optimal conditions for aircraft performance and efficient handling of both origin-destination and transit passengers. Proximity to the capital ensures seamless integration with the existing aviation ecosystem. The first phase of the airport will handle 60 million passengers per year, with an ultimate master plan capacity of 110 million passengers annually, placing Ethiopia among the world’s top aviation hubs.

ብጹዕ ወቅዱስ አቡነ ጳውሎስ(በረከታቸው ይደርብንና) በነበሩ ዘመን አንድ ሰው እሳቸውን ሰድቦ መጽሐፍ ያሳትማል፡፡ ቤተ ክህነቱ ይከሰዋል፡፡ እሱም ይታሠራል፡፡ በኋላ አቡነ ጳውሎስ ይሰማሉ፡፡
“ለምን ከሰሳችሁት” አሉ
“እርስዎን ሰድቦ፣ መጽሐፍ አሳትሞ እየሸጠ ነው” ብለው መጽሐፉን አምጥተው አሳዩዋቸው፡፡
“ለመሆኑ ልጁ ሥራ አለው” አሉ
“ኧረ የለውም፤ ይሄንኑ እየሸጠ ነው የሚበላው”
“ሊሸጥ የሚችል ስምስ አለው”
“ኧረ ስሙ መንገድ ላይ ወድቆ ቢገኝ ማንም አያነሣውም”
“በሉ ተውት፤ ከሚርበው ስሜን ሽጦ ይብላ፤ ለእኔም እንደ ምጽዋት ይቆጠርልኛል፤ እሱኮ የሚሠራው ሥራም፣ የሚሸጠው ስምም ስለሌለው ነው” አሉ ይባላል፡፡
አሁን አሁን የዐቢይን ስም ሽጠው የሚበሉ ምጽዋተኞች ብቅ ብቅ ብለዋል፡፡ እነዚህ ሰዎች ሁለት ነገር የላቸውም፡፡ አንድም ሥራ የላቸውም፤ አንድም የሚሸጥ ስም የላቸውም፡፡ ያላቸው አማራጭ የዐቢይን ስም ሸጠው መብላት ነው፡፡ ልጆቻቸውም በዚህ ሽያጭ ነው የሚያድጉት፤ ቢልም የሚከፍሉት ከዚሁ ሽያጭ ነው፡፡ ለዐቢይ በዋናነት የሚጸልዩት እነዚህ ሰዎች ናቸው፡፡ ስሙ እንጀራቸው ነዋ!
እነዚህ የዐቢይ ምጽዋተኞች ናቸው፡፡
ስሙ እንጀራቸው ነው፡፡
ስሙ ልብሳቸው ነው፤
ስሙ የታክሲ ሂሳባቸው ነው፡፡
ያሳደጋቸው የዐቢይ ስም መሆኑን ልጆቻቸውም ያውቃሉ፤ እናም ምኞታቸው አሳዳጊያቸውን ዐቢይን ማየት ነው፡፡
ኢትዮጵያ ውስጥ፡-

ለአንዳንዶች በሪሞት የሚሠሩት ሥራ ተዘጋጅቶላቸዋል፤
ለአንዳንዶች በኮሪደር ልማት የሥራ ዕድል አግኝተዋል፤
ለአንዳንዶች በሌማት ትሩፋት የገቢ ምንጭ ተፈጥሮላቸዋል፤
ለአንዳንዶች በአረንጓዴ ዐሻራ የእንጀራ ገመድ ተዘርግቶላቸዋል፤
ለአንዳንዶች በስንዴና በሩዝ አብዮት ሀብት ተትረፍርፎላቸዋል፤
ለአንዳንዶች ቤት ተሠርቶላቸው ሱቅ ተሰጥቷቸዋል፤

ለነ እንቶኔ ደግሞ ስሙን ሸጠው የመተዳደር የሥራ ዕድል ተፈጥሮላቸዋል፤
እናም፤ ምጽዋተኞችን ተዋቸው፤ እዘኑላቸው፤ አትፍረዱባቸው፡፡
ስም በመሸጥ የሥራ ዕድል የተፈጠረላቸው “የዐቢይ ምጽዋተኞች” ናቸው፡፡
