A sign that you are maturing spiritually: you understand that those who are in Christ but hold different theological convictions are not your enemy and deserve prayer more than your sarcasm, public take downs, or slander.
I honestly don’t know how to get around that truth.
I'm not sure how you can't love this attitude from @OleMissFB QB @corral_matt. He was asked Monday if opting out of the bowl game was ever an option for him. His answer is raw, refreshing, and real. Take a listen:
"During my 18 years, I came to bat almost 10,000 times.
I struck out about 1,700 times, I walked around 1,800 times.
A baseball player averages about 500 at bats every season.
Which means, I played a full seven years without ever hitting the ball."
- Mickey Mantle
One of the biggest reasons we’re losing our children to the world is that we think our battle is *against* the world rather than *for* the world. Fear and hatred of our neighbors will not result in making disciples of our children.
We have the widest reaching communication platforms in human history at our disposal and we use them to take countless cheap shots at our political rivals. How very unlike Jesus.
(3/3) Possessing this faith, we will not cease to work, but will work by faith. We will work not under the illusion that human knowledge, ingenuity, or violence will fix what’s wrong with the world. We will work in Truth, knowing that Jesus is the hope of the world.
(2/3) Once we accept that humans lack the strength and knowledge to fix the world’s ills, we can surrender to the work of the Spirit. He will transform us into joyful, gentle, peaceful, meek, and selfless people; who acknowledge that our carnal striving is counterproductive.
(1/3) I believe that salvation is by faith and not by works. Not only individual salvation, but also salvation for humanity and even creation itself. All salvation is by faith and not by works. Human effort cannot save the world, but God can!
I have never had a youth section on Sunday mornings.
I think it’s good for students to be with their families.
I think it’s good for students to be a part of the church without me and the student ministry.
And I think it’s good not to be responsible for them on Sunday mornings
