@OVTweetmarck The Scottish Parliament has a dynamo under their car park that uses John Knox’s spinning as a source of clean renewable energy. It powers central Edinburgh from the castle to Holyrood
@OVTweetmarck (And yes, despite being Presbyterian I can chatter about different types and lineages of vagantes at length, because that’s been essentially a hobby of mine since late college.)
The most important skill for posting online is to align your level of “dishing out” with your capacity for “taking it.”
It’s been done, but failure to achieve it is far more visible than success is.
@sgodofsk Combining a forced cap gains realization on top of an estate tax reversion is just punitive. It’s basically running the same tax twice.
And basis stepup is a rare tax rule that makes administration much simpler/reduces red tape, so of course all the big-brained idiots hate it
@WVPitt That said, the revisions seem less to mandate a particular political theology and more to allow previously rejected views while ruling out at least some previously confessed ones. But the new form seems much less specific in its prescription than the old one was.
@WVPitt So “pope is Antichrist” is no longer positively confessed but is not considered an error. It may be held wo/a scruple. But affirming the power of a civil magistrate to establish one denomination of Christians? Per the revisions that’s now considered to be some degree of error.
