On Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the invitation of @AbigailAsaim, President of @AfricaHallJCRC, I joined their EduReach at Konadu Yiadom Senior High School in Asante Asamang.

Participating schools were Bankoman Senior High, Konadu Yiadom Senior High (host), and Effiduase Senior High Technical.

I shed more light on university applications, cut-off points, and programmes offered by College of Science, KNUST.

MEETING WITH INCOMING SCISA EXECUTIVES.

On July 2, I invited the newly elected leadership of the Science Students Association, led by President Elect @Drwalkerr for a brief meeting. Our meeting focused on transition matters as well as offering guidance on their upcoming roles.

Friday, March 14, 2025, marked a significant milestone for the 43rd SCISA Administration as we held a swearing-in ceremony for our newly appointed officials.

This momentous occasion officially inaugurated our appointees into their roles, empowering them to drive positive change and excellence within our community.

Yesterday’s emergency sitting of the 16th SRC Parliamentary Council was a sober occasion, as we mourned the loss of our dear student, Miss Joana Deladem Yabani. The college caucus showed solidarity by wearing black attire with red bands.

On behalf of SCISA, I expressed condolences to Joana's family, friends, while acknowledging the university management's efforts like ensuring 80% of campus being under CCTV surveillance.
However, I emphasized that more needs to be done to guarantee student safety.

To address this, I proposed a four key solution. Here they are:

- Decentralized CCTV Monitoring: Instead of having a central monitoring point, CCTV cameras should be monitored at individual halls and colleges to ensure timely responses.
- Enhanced CCTV Capabilities: CCTV cameras should be equipped with alarms and radio sensors to alert authorities of potential threats.
- Security Personnel Ratio: The university should consider the security personnel-to-student ratio, just as they do with lecturer-to-student ratios.
- Increased Nighttime Transportation : More buses should be allocated to the Prempeh Library during its 24-hour service to ensure students' safety while moving students back to their hostels at night.

It's clear that while management is taking steps, more needs to be done. Unfortunately, we can no longer say that KNUST campus is safe for students.

On Friday, February 7, 2025, the Science Students Association (SCISA), in collaboration with the Optometry Students Association of Ghana (OSAG-KNUST), successfully organized an eye screening event.

This initiative is a remarkable testament to the leadership and dedication of SCISA in promoting SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being within our community.
SCISA is committed to striving for excellence and making a real difference in the lives of our students.

I would like to acknowledge the tireless work of the SCISA Health Committee, the OSAG Health Committee, and our skilled final-year Doctor of Optometry students. Let’s continue raising the bar of excellence and make SCISA great again.
