REMINDER: @wcsFood and @OneGenAway will be providing food to families in need at Westwood Elementary starting tomorrow from 10am until noon. They will also be there Saturday from 10am until noon. Volunteers will bring food directly to your car!
A few excerpts from student responses on their end-of-the-unit reflection forms. This is a new practice I have started this year, and I am LOVING the feedback I get from them!
@PhilipPulley@Schoology Do you have any news on the standards-based gradebook or student choice folders? The last news I heard was at NEXT! when they were announced to be coming by the beginning of the school year.
I just got an Apple TV and an iPad for my classroom (well, for the first time since like 2015). What #edtech should I be using? Class set of iPads is also available, and we are 1:1 with Chromebooks. #langchat
@BBmilliken I only assess presentational and interpersonal modes for that reason. I use interpretive for formative grading and acquiring new vocabulary.
The Day of the Dead isn’t Mexican Halloween. It's an Aztec holiday that originated in southern Mexico and celebrates family and friends who died. https://t.co/qhIhYyxkGc
Officially 1️⃣ week until the reboot of #SchoologyChat!
Raise your hand if you're excited 🙋♀️
Thank you to @PhilipPulley and @MrsDPatt for helping us put together this awesome reboot
@bruggsb Not yet. I am researching how other people manage, this SBG is not the norm here and we don’t have anyone locally to lean on. I am hoping to run a SWOT analysis with our students on our current PBIS model as well.
Turning to my Twitter PLN for help with an #SBG question. How do you ensure students in your school complete their work within a reasonable time frame, while not basing their grades on behaviors? Looking for policies, further reading, motivation tricks, etc. #edchat Please share!
@bruggsb We do the same, with an hour-long off-campus lunch for students who are advanced or proficient on every standard. It isn’t as motivating for them as it was reported to be a few years ago, though.
