The LNG plant was announced in 2011!!! Under Christy Clark and Steven Harper. Partners took the first investment decision in 2018. Phase 2 was already in the original plan. “Of the more than 20 projects proposed from the mid-2000s, only one is operational today. This is because the NDP have an ideological disposition against BC LNG, even though it is the cleanest in the world. This was clear when Deputy Premier Nikki Sharma called BC gas development “a race to the bottom.”
