I'm reading Secure by Dr. Levine. He says, "Your brain processes physical pain & social exclusion through overlapping distress circuits. This helps explain why being left out, rejected, or isolated can feel so profoundly painful."
Loneliness is a beating. Fascinating but tough.
@daneortlund This falls within 7 and 8. If the circumstances allow, don't limit yourself just to questions about the contents of their schedule. Be curious about them. Pursue their why, their thoughts, and their feelings. People feel known when you go past "How was work?".
@AbEzAs123@davidpollack47 It is one story, and 2 Tim 3:16-17 indicates and reminds us that all scripture is valuable and from God. The Gospels are the climax of the story. I understand focusing on the Gospels, and I think you can get more from them if you read the OT alongside them. Excited for you!
@brooklynfritzy the gold of the Toddcast is the oversharing. Good call by Dylan to let you roll. Keep being you and shake off any flak you might catch.
@BowTiedBroke You’ve said you’re going trendy because guests seem to like it—totally reasonable. It would be cool (maybe more cost effective?) if you did a traditional, Americana style interior and it outperformed the others. A curated, classic cabin style is pretty inviting.
@dpshow I'm a @brooklynfritzy fan, but this bit is gold. Todd could've put a damper on it with one word responses, but he was a good sport and elevated it.
@BCrawford247 Depends. Last week I told a client they didn't need me (a realtor) in their situation. I get paid 2.5% to eat the stress. When the stress is low for my client, I can get overpaid. Negotiating roofs, submitting offers during a concert intermission, military moves...I earn it often
I quit facebook and instagram a few days before New Years Eve. I still type "face" into the search bar when I open my browser. The heart wants what the heart wants.
@screentime I wish there were more battles for the group in the finale, more hero moments for them to close out on. However, the epilogue was really good.
@HJhughes79 I thought the main group would face more battles and everyone (especially Steve) would get a hero moment so I was bummed when that didn't happen. I liked most of the rest of it. I thought the epilogue was balanced, hopeful, and moving.
