We were modelling our freebies at our 2nd Winter Wander with @TheF4LGroup today. Our beanie hats & snoods helped us keep warm. After we all enjoyed free soup & sandwich made by the wonderful @CafeBeal team. Thanks for funding our Wanders @GmWalks @SalfordCVS#GoTheExtraMile
We are holding an exhibition at @CafeBeal in March to celebrate the lives of older people with learning disabilities aged over 50 and living in Greater Manchester as part of Ageism Action Day. We are looking for photos, artworks and recordings. Please send us entries by 11 March
Some of the GM GOLD team were Living It Up at the @GMOPN1 event today with their friends from @FD_SPICE. It was good to be able to take part in discussions about the challenges older people can face - and share ideas about how things can be improved! @AfAgeing@gmcvo
Then we joined John and Pauline at the @GMOPN1 Older People's Network ‘Living It Up’ event. We shared our Hate Crime resources there as lots of older people face hate crime. We talked about challenges older people face and how to solve them. We also sangalong with the choir!
Today Daniel & Mel met interns on @NHSNWRD@NHSNW research training for health and social care professions. They talked about involving and engaging people with research, using the @wearegmgold research we did with @firstmcr@nwtdt@LearningMet as an example 🙌 #PutPeopleFirst
Members of GM GOLD from Manchester, Oldham, Trafford, Bolton and Bury had a great time at the NW Regional Forum in Blackpool. It was good to catch up with so many people in person but we missed those who couldn’t be there this year 😢Thank you for organising the Forum @nwtdtlynn

Michael was on a panel at today’s event about learning disabilities and autism at @uomnursoc@LD_Nursing_UoM - with a guest appearance by his mum Maureen! He was telling the students all about hospital passports and what is important to him when using health services @Pftameside
Richard, Shirley, Michael and Mel went to a co production workshop about the findings from the Growing Older Planning Ahead research and what changes are needed. Great to see so many people in the room & onscreen! @sarasiobhan@firstmcr @VickyByrne1 @LearningMet@OlderAhead
