The executive editor at the Irish Daily Mail has refused to comment on the paper’s Facebook page being run from Israel – claiming he “wouldn’t be licensed” to do so
John Lee said he couldn’t say anything about the page’s three account managers in Israel

Shakespeare wrote the word Palestine in 1603 in Othello:
“I know a lady in Venice would have walked barefoot to Palestine…”
Even then, Palestine was a known land, a living place in the world’s imagination.
Today, 422 years later, Palestinians are still walking barefoot — not in romance, but in resistance.
For 76 years, they have faced bombs, exile, siege, starvation. Israel has tanks, F-35s, nuclear weapons, and the backing of world powers. Palestinians have sandals, stones, and sometimes nothing but their bare feet.
And yet the world’s most powerful army still says it feels “threatened.”
That tells you everything about the strength of Palestinian resistance.
History has already written it: Palestine existed before 1948. Palestine exists today. Palestine will exist tomorrow. 🇵🇸
The prospect of Mairead McGuinness becoming President is appalling. She voted against a motion in the European Parliament to provide further resources to save lives in the Mediterranean. She then gave a false explanation for doing so. She has to be stopped.
"If you believe that what a satirical band who play characters on stage do is more outrageous than the murdering of innocent Palestinians, then you need to give your head a fucking wobble.”

Nazis Raus ! These evil racist German genepool nazi war criminals like @vonderleyen @_FriedrichMerz @Bundesk will face The Hague War Crimes Tribunal one day. German youth will hold them to account for complicity in slaughter of babies and children.
"Mo Chara’s real problem is that the message he put out landed. Working-class people aren’t meant to speak like this, organise like this, or connect struggles across borders like this. That’s what scares them.
While Mo Chara stands in the dock for allegedly waving a flag, those complicit in a genocide walk the streets untouched. Since October 2023, over 60,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza – entire families erased, journalists targeted, children bombed in their beds.
More than 300 officials at the Foreign Office raised their concerns about Israel’s “stark … disregard for international law”. And yet, the UK government continues to greenlight arms deals and offer diplomatic cover. That’s not a performance. That’s a conscious policy decision. Made in Westminster, paid for by the taxpayer, and buried beneath silence.
They’ve tried this before. Give Ireland Back to the Irish – banned. Christy Moore – detained. The Pogues’ Streets of Sorrow – silenced for decades. And now, it seems to be Mo Chara – for turning protest into poetry, politics into art.
So here’s the question – the same one Pete Seeger asked, the same one Mo Chara asks now: Which side are you on?

🔴 We’re on our way to Gaza — expected to arrive in about 48 hours. These next hours are critical. Your voice is our protection. Let apartheid Israel know: the world is watching. Your silence gives them cover. Don’t stay silent. 🔴
‘How could Irish people allow 2000 pound bombs to fly through our sovereign airspace and warplanes carrying munitions to land in Shannon airport on their way to obliterate Palestinian families?
‘I realised it’s because the Irish people are not being shown or told the truth by our national media. RTÉ is whitewashing the genocide in Palestine, refusing to report the horrific truth and still giving a voice to the genocidal state of Israel.
‘It's because the Irish people are being lied to by our government who pretend to be so supportive of Palestine when all they have done is recognise Palestine as a state last year.
‘Everything else is just noise and 20 months into a genocide our government are now morally and legally complicit. They allow trade with Israel every single day, €4 billion in trade last year. That's business as usual.
‘They sell war bonds for Israel, the only country in the EU to do that.
‘They refuse to enact the Occupied Territories Bill. The attorney general's unpublished advice to government was recently reported on by The Ditch. It was said that replacing the Occupied Territories Bill as opposed to amending it was a political choice and not a legally necessary one.
‘Our leaders lied about this.
‘Finally they are complicit in transporting the weapons that slaughter Palestinians by allowing overflights as recently as last Friday.’
- Anti-war activist and Shannon protester Padraic Grogan at Ennis District Court today
'We have been forced to take action against the
imperialist war machine ourselves," as Badbh Ní Chathasaigh, who appears in court tomorrow, has put it.'
The Ditch stands with the anti-war activists persecuted by the state.
