@GalaReiver@moomintroll41@Mark1957 Millennials are 28-43 now you tit π is that a buzzword you throw out often? Alongside avocados/lattes and house ownership?
45min on the phone to an indian call centre "diagnosing the problem" to get my internet fixed, when I told them right at the start of the call that workies had cut through the cable. This is fun.
@OisinMcGann @mrjamesob Why are you falsely conflating tv/film with theatre? He's specifically referencing theatre and Shakespeare. Macbeth is a play about a murder(s). Trigger warnings are needlessly dumbing it down.
@GTreig People who pay physical book price for a kindle book are nuts! My kindle's full of books >Β£3, if they cost any more than that you're better with a hard copy. My bookcases are chocka.
Just had my local Labour candidate at the door canvassing for votes. Intrigued to know how many people around these parts will give him the same reason for not voting them. My response didn't come as a surprise to him and he said he completely understood π
Sunak's a wankpuppet (obviously) - but are trans rights not one of the many policies Starmer has indeed u turned and aligned with the tories on? Why's everyone lauding him for mincing his words today, yet again? https://t.co/7OayDnBAcc
This is cute.
Fact that dental care in Scotland is also on its knees, travel is increasingly unaffordable for 22-59 year olds, and hefty council tax payments still don't stretch far enough to maintain roads, libraries, leisure centres and cultural sites.
On a free bus in Glasgow today for my regular NHS dental check up. I'm planning to pick up my free repeat prescription while I'm in the hood. My granddaughter and I are getting a free bus into town later. She's at Uni there-all fees payed by @scotgov. How's things in England?
@Patrick774113 @c137tparker @FischerKing64 It's easier to concentrate on audiobooks on a commute than it is on physical books - the background noise is tuned out. I read both too.
@WeegieDoll @EmergMedDr Same thing happened to me. They told me they "couldn't wave a magic wand". 9cm and by the time they bothered to check it was too late for pain relief. Wondering if this was the same mat unit in Glasgow π
@iforgotthefall Can't remember which Greek philosopher it was (Lucretius?) but I read his view that we've been "dead" before, pre-birth, and we'll just go back to that state of non existence. Stopped being scared of death after that and it made perfect sense π
@Ron_Fleasley Save your sanity with the blocks in the second pic by making them at least 2x the size they are there. I made 2 cakes like the first square one when I'd just started out in cakes and ended up just dotting the blocks about to represent them..
@RichardJohn@JRichAvoToast Chengdu also has the Teddy Museum (we've been twice, it's fun!). The Leshan Buddha is cool for a day trip/getting a bit outside the city.
