Congratulations to Lily Graham who won the Junior Morrisons Cup Public Speaking competition and to Reuben Drummond who was runner up in the Senior category - and Mrs Thomson has the biggest smile of all!
Well done to all the campaigners today!
This unit saved my nephews life & it is a absolute disgrace it is being downgraded
Also good to see support from several parties at Holyrood for this

Thanks to the amazing @wishawneonatal team, Rosa Griffin is alive today.
A couple of days ago @theSNP and @scottishgreens MSPs voted in favour of downgrading the unit - despite it being awarded UK Neonatal Team of the Year 2023. Make it make sense!

The Neonatal Team at University Hospital Wishaw were crowned the best in the UK in 2023.
Itโs absurd that Scottish ministers are praising them for their excellence while pushing forward plans to downgrade the unit.
Make it make sense @jenni_minto@MathesonMichael@HumzaYousaf
As MSPs prepare to debate the downgrading of University Hospital Wishaw's neonatal unit we're being told the proposals put babies' lives at risk.
The Scottish Government are considering consolidating intensive neonatal care into three large units in Glasgow, Edinburgh & Aberdeen. Ministers say there is strong expert evidence it will mean improved outcomes for the country's most vulnerable babies.
But over 12,000 people have now backed a campaign calling for a rethink - a campaign started by East Kilbride mum @LynneMcRitchie1.
Her son Innes was born in Wishaw four months premature. Lynne is convinced if he'd had to travel to one of the cities, he wouldn't have survived.
