Finally! As promised, re-edited and uploaded the e-version of my Masters publication, “The Right to Live in Peace.” The full book in PDF form can now be downloaded from my website (https://t.co/dJQLBShAy7); with that, I… https://t.co/puv5WOYMGk
Between 2011 and 2022 alone, Black land-grant universities lost nearly $200 million in resources because states declined to provide them with matching funds while fully funding predominantly white universities, a new report notes. https://t.co/gNdmzwnvRJ
Sowing rage and anger against the Prime Minister can yield bitter fruit, as we saw last week in Belleville. Now, as the MAGAfication of our politics continues, it's time to focus on where that's coming from -- and why. #cdnpoli

Congratulations @Teamsters, @IBT251, @TeamsterRnF and everyone who worked so hard to win the best contract ever for all UPS employees, full-time & part-time. I hear part-time general wage increases will be double what they were in the previous contract!

@CPHO_Canada@jyduclos We have to act. Average weekly excess mortality in 2023 is still 20% higher than 2020 or 2021. Provinces may not intend to act, but federal agencies and officials have an ethical responsibility to protect Canadian lives too--we all have an ethical responsibility as human beings.
As with the Manning Panel's interim report and the government's refusal to release it, I have to ask the question: is it because it's too bonkers, or because it's not bonkers enough?
Maine has a Democratic governor who is singlehandedly blocking farmworkers from getting anything resembling fair treatment and compensation at their job. First she vetoed a unionization bill passed by the legislature, now it's a minimum wage bill. Unreal
🚨 Breaking from @dinfontay - On Wednesday evening, Anchor Brewing Union @anchorunionSF advised Sapporo USA that workers want to purchase the brewery and run it as a worker co-op.

Reviewers: 'How could you not reference this famous and essential book?'
WorldCat, when I look the book up: 'The book, written in Pictish and rumoured to be cursed, exists in a single 1981 manuscript copy in a private collection in Australia. '
hey, quick question:
if you swallow a bunch of googly eyes before an x-ray will your doctor see something very cool/disturbing, or have you just swallowed a bunch of googly eyes for no reason
Later, Rick.
You lived your life like you knew it would end this soon.
You turned your rage into cathartic beauty and seemingly shared your happiness with anyone who needed it.
I hope you knew what you did for me.
I hope you knew that I knew what you did for me.
Love you.
@Bafflegabs Seriously gutted. I still remember Hot Snakes’ Sled Island set @ Dickens where they handed me a beer from the stage because they saw me rockin my face off right up front with a huge smile on my face. Legend </3
@Musecat_ab@RachelNotley THIS!!! My AB student loan interest rate was hiked 3x even BEFORE the banks started raising rates; I’ve also had to appeal to TransUnion to fix my credit rating when SAA claimed a “late payment” despite the fact it was a system error and I was on RAP at $0 monthly for 6 months
I should be clear — I'm very lucky! I make a good salary. I'm not worried about becoming unhoused! But if I'm having this much trouble, I can't even imagine how newcomers, or big families, or low-income people are navigating the market. It's unsustainable. https://t.co/DoSBLdc32U
These are 100% NOT Harvard’s admission rates based on race & it absolutely baffles me that doofuses like this with no capacity for critical thought & middle-school-level reading comprehension clog up so much space in this public discourse & mislead so much of the public.
There is no good argument for legacy admissions. You had nothing to do with your parent or grandparent graduating from college. You should not have an unearned advantage over a non-legacy applicant by accident of birth.
