I finish ward rounds some months back then went for consulting knowing everything was fine when I got called by a midwife saying a baby is convulsing.

I rushed and tried calming it down but the question "why did he convulse?" had to be answered and I found ..👇✍️

Tragedy struck in Ridawa village in Ghari Local Government Area of Kano State when an unspecified number of brick workers were reportedly buried after a pit collapsed in the village.
The incident was said to have occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, while the victims were engaged in digging earth for brick-making.
It was gathered that the victims were inside the pit when it suddenly caved in, trapping many of them underground.

I stayed up last night watching documentaries and interviews of victims of Banditry in the North western region of Nigeria and started crashing out here.

Had to delete all the things I wrote out of anger as soon as I was calm.

You cannot not be angry when you see the impunity with which these people operate

I just saw this news that another group has placed a curfew and #30m levy on an entire community in Zamfara

When the whole issue started these herdsmen were practically getting sympathy from both local and international communities.

Natural and unnatural occurrences like climate change and overgrazing affected their way of lives

And they hope the government would do something about it

Who remembers RUGA by Buhari that was outright rejected by southerners

That was the last attempt to savage the situation

Now they have gone from being victims to being villains.

They began kidnapping simply for leverage or retaliation

But It’s a like a vegetarian that tasted grilled chicken for the first time

They soon realized the profit from ransom outweighs herding, so they built an industry on kidnapping

Like you, I also wasn’t really paying attention to this kidnapping pandemic until I saw a clip of a Corper being flogged by bandits in order to motivate his family to pay up

That is not a farmer in a rural community in Benue whose land was strategic to their cause

This is a guy who did TDB like me, had exam anxiety like me, signed out of the university like me

And also like me, is looking forward to a bright future

Sadly, this is when it occurred to me that nobody is safe

People are being killed in large numbers in the north right now, but everywhere is quiet, no public outcry from Muslims in the north.

But the moment Christians cry out about terrorists killing them or allege a Christian genocide, the same Muslim North comes out in large numbers to condemn the Christians for speaking up, or worse, responds with the stupid rhetoric “Muslims are getting killed even more.”
