Our visit today to the Christian Impact Mission Model Farm in Yatta, Machakos County was a powerful reminder that some of Kenya's most transformative economic ideas are already taking shape in our communities.
Following the tragic death from hunger, of a young mother of newborn twins in 2008, Bishop Titus Masika and his wife made a commitment to change the story of Yatta.
In arid corner of Kenya's, they have demonstrated that with the right systems, water can support production throughout the year. Today, smallholder farmers are supplying local and export markets, creating livelihoods and laying the foundation for thriving rural enterprises.
The lesson from Yatta goes far beyond agriculture. A strong economy is built household by household. When families participate in competitive value chains, cottage industries emerge, jobs are created and local economies grow.
As Bishop Masika aptly put it, "The people must be actors, partners, producers and managers in development, not just beneficiaries."
That is the essence of sustainable development.
At @UGMParty, as the Green party, we believe that Kenya's economic transformation will be driven by empowering people to participate fully in the economy through stronger cooperatives, competitive value chains and fair access to markets.
We haven’t grasped how deep the internal security crisis in the country is because we use words that mask its intensity, such as “goons” and “insecurity”.
So what if we called it what it is, “state-organized armed militia”, “state-funded terrorism”, “state-sponsored violence”?
I see people mad at Ruto (and rightfully so) for wanting “better” for his children. But we also need to ask ourselves some uncomfortable questions..
When he campaigned under the “hustler” narrative, did we ever stop to ask what hustling actually looked like for him? His children were already in elite schools. This isn’t overnight success. There was never anything “hustler like” about him. The whole “bottom-up” narrative was a big joke.
The same thing happened a few years earlier when many people voted for Uhuru simply because he is the son of the so called “Father of the Nation.” Many ignored the warning signs, bought into the narrative, and Kenya is still paying the price for that decision today.
As much as we want to direct our anger at politicians after every election, we also have to accept a difficult truth, voters carry a huge responsibility for the choices this country ends up with.
Hopefully, in 2027, we choose better. Because unless we do, nothing will change. Their children will continue going to school in the West while they destroy the education system at home.
They will continue flying abroad for treatment while our healthcare system continues to collapse. They will continue using helicopters while building substandard roads for the very people who elected them.
They will continue hiring private chefs while many Kenyan families struggle to put food on the table. The reality is simple: they will always protect their own. The question is, when will we start protecting ours?
Tuamkeni wakenya!!
This is why I don't take civil society 'protest guides' seriously.
The guides telling you not to resist arrest, know your rights and call your lawyer meeting the reality of police who will abduct, torture and murder you with no consequences.
Dear @skmusyoka, @DrFredMatiang and @dkmaraga,
If elected President, will you pursue credible investigations and prosecutions against President Ruto and Kenya Kwanza officials implicated in corruption, abuse of office and crimes against Kenyans?
Will you recover every stolen public coin, repossess unlawfully acquired assets and ensure that no politician—regardless of status—is placed above the law? Kenyans deserve a clear and unequivocal answer.
on this, i think it may be more about raising a submissive, controlled population rather than discipline. there are many ways of instilling discipline, i may be wrong though
"I don't know how you teachers are able to instill discipline in schools without the power of the cane. I hope the canes will be re-introduced because I don't understand how you deal with a student who burns dormitory!"~Oburu
The IMF claiming immunity confirms they know they are lending money to thugs yet they continue to lend because we, Africans, are disposable and our lives are apparently worth nothing. We are only as good as what can be extracted from us, fairly or unfairly.
DCI officers raid former president's home on 2nd March 2028 and recover property believed to have been purchased with proceeds from corruption.
Former president Ruto is facing 23,563 cases of corruption, abuse of office and gross misconduct.
The President has said that this is the first step in getting the country in the right direction in its fight against corruption.
High Court throws out AG Oduor's application to block Senator Okiya Omtatah's Sh7 trillion public debt case, judges rule petition will go to full hearing.
Tomorrow marks two years since young Kenyans who stood up against political tyranny were killed for it. Many others were maimed. They are living scars of our brutal political system.
Two things must be clear as we commemorate June 25th: First, the right to peaceful assembly and to picket is constitutional. The government is duty-bound to respect and protect it. It should not unleash goons or interfere. Second, government officials must desist from threatening citizens who are organising to exercise their rights and remember their departed loved ones. Kenyans, killed in 2024 and 2025, deserve justice.
Accountability must be followed with appropriate compensation and permanent memorialization. Cobbling together sham compensation is not justice.
Kenyans must be allowed to exercise their democratic rights, and never again should we witness abductions or forced disappearances.
Enough.
Tuonane kesho!

It's Time to Break Free from the "Lesser Evil" Election Cycle
For far too long, Kenyans have been forced to choose between the lesser of two evils during elections.
Our nation deserves better. It is time to support leaders whose integrity, competence, and track record speak for themselves.
Among those seeking the presidency this time round, David Maraga stands out as a leader known for his commitment to the Constitution, the rule of law, and ethical leadership.

Hi homeguard @rigathi:
12-year/old Bridgit Njoki was shot dead by the police while watching TV at home!
It’s people like her we’re mourning on Thursday. You can hide indoors at Wamunyoro to stay safe but don’t sell us fear!
Anyone who is not talking about;
- Odious Debts
- Tracing looted funds to the last coin
- Nationalizing minerals,
Is just another crook who wants an opportunity to steal.
That is just another warden who wants an opportunity to govern a Prison.
The bigger problem in this country is as a result of economic terrorism caused by illegal borrowing and rampant looting of public resources.
Stay guided!
