The moral vacuum at the heart of UK media: @Channel4News follows a heart-rending interview with Dr James Smith about conditions in Gaza with an interview with Israel propagandist Amit Segal who is allowed to repeat *without challenge* from @mattfrei the completely discredited story of Hamas beheading babies. @krishgm
You are deeply missed, Anas. ❤️🩹 Not only did you teach the world about the plight and struggle of the Palestinian people, but you also taught the world what true bravery, true kindness, and true love for one’s people and homeland look like. We love you, and we will never forget you.
It’s exactly one year since our hero Anas al-Sharif was murdered by Israel.
His killing was made possible by the journalists who whitewashed and diluted Israel’s crimes, who failed to report accurately as their industry peers were being slaughtered.
We will never forget.
Francesca Albanese: "Israel has unveiled its vision for Palestine-which is none. No Palestine between the river and the sea. The genocide is a state enterprise. The apartheid is a state enterprise. There is no good Israel and bad Israel -it's all Israel. Sanction Israel. Isolate Israel. Cut trade. No more arms. The Nakba has never been over."
Albanese-the UN Special Rapporteur-just delivered the most brutal diagnosis of Israel's project.
This is not about Netanyahu. This is not about the far-right. This is Israel
No one should ever forget:
The partnership of Netanyahu 🇮🇱; Trump 🇺🇸 & Starmer 🇬🇧 did this
It’s apocalyptic
An evil, racist genocide
For the sake of humanity, all must be made to answer in The Hague

three years of this. day in and day out. watching our people get slaughtered, burned alive, terrorized beyond belief; hearing our friends in Gaza cry over the phone, their words cutting in and out because there's no reliable wifi, and understanding only that their anguish is too big for anyone to hold—everything they've ever known in the world gone, their sense of themselves and their futures perverted and mangled like their bodies have become; people's minds fracturing in real time, over the phone while we speak with them; children unable to find safety anywhere in their world, not with their parents, not in their tents. Even the ocean and beach they used to love has become a death trap—flooding, sewage, merciless insects.
The grief we feel is bigger than anything I've ever known, and yet our expressions of that grief are expected to come out pure and sanitized, because protecting sensitivities of Jewish people is a more urgent matter. I want Jews themselves to reject these parameters, and to do so outloud.
No colonized people watching their society and history being erased has ever owed anyone comfort, certainly not the perpetrators, no matter who those perpetrators are. Jews are colonizers in Palestine and are committing a genocide today. That is a fact, like our dead are a fact. Of course it's not all Jews, nor was it all Germans, nor all Afrikaaners.
The tone policing we experience is a form of control that insists criticism of Zionism, expressed with the particular heat of genocide, must be pre-approved, and that any word which could conceivably echo the vocabulary once used against Jews for being Jews is disqualifying, regardless of what it is actually being used to describe now, and regardless of who is doing the dying. Only Zionism comes wrapped in an inherited claim on the world's tenderness.
But I refuse it. Whatever the price I end up paying, I will never regret describing the ghouls burying our babies alive in the harshest adjectives I know. Whatever price any of us pay will always pale in comparison to the toll exacted from the most vulnerable in the world.
And to add insult to injury they’ve obviously had a call from Barclays and are acting as their PR arm by reading out their statement. This is not journalism! If you think Polanski was wrong research it and give us the truth! The BBC is dead.
@lindseyhilsum@Channel4News A report on this war crime that felt it necessary to state ‘the guilty’ were buried alongside the innocent - have you ever described buried IDF soldiers as guilty? Even in their immense grief the Palestinians are judged by a media complicit in their genocide. Shameful.
Everything is backwards, upside down, inside out. The worst of us are elevated to unimaginable privilege while the best of us are persecuted for daring to pursue decency, and it just keeps getting more and more ridiculous every single day.
