SECURITY BOOST IN ISIALA MBANO AS CP DANJUMA COMMISSIONS RENOVATED ANARA DIVISIONAL POLICE HQ, THE FIFTH REOPENED UNDER HIS LEADERSHIP, STRENGTHENING COMMUNITY POLICING

The Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Aboki Danjuma, today, 18th September 2025, on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, officially commissioned the newly renovated and upgraded Anara Divisional Police Headquarters in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area.

The former Division, which had been attacked and burnt by gunmen some years ago, has now been fully restored to serve the security needs of the people. Its reopening as a Divisional Police Headquarters marks a strategic step toward restoring full police presence, strengthening security, and deepening police-community collaboration in Anara and its environs.

The event was graced by traditional rulers, community leaders, and stakeholders, with goodwill messages delivered by dignitaries, including the Secretary General of Anara Ancient Community, Engr. Remi Iwuamadi, the President General, Palace Secretary, Vice President, Heads of Vigilante Groups, and High Chiefs, all pledging their continued cooperation with the Police.

In his keynote address, CP Aboki Danjuma underscored the importance of community policing, urging residents to see the Police as partners in progress. He charged the vigilante groups to work closely with Police personnel to combat crime, stressing the need for synergy and credible information sharing.

The CP also commended the Anara community for their resilience and support, urging them to take ownership of the facility by ensuring its protection. To strengthen leadership, he announced the posting of a gallant and dedicated officer, SP Dawadinwe Wilberforce, as the new Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Anara Division. In addition, adequately equipped security personnel have been deployed to the Division to ensure effective policing, rapid response to distress calls, and sustained safety in the area.

Following the ribbon-cutting, the Commissioner inspected the renovated facilities, which now include an Administration Office, Investigation Office, functional cell, and Police Barracks for personnel, enhancing both operational effectiveness and officer welfare.

Significantly, Anara becomes the fifth Police Division previously affected by insecurity that has been rebuilt and reopened under the leadership of CP Aboki Danjuma, with the support of the State Government led by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Imo State, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma. This aligns with the Governor’s 3R Mandate of Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, and Recovery, which continues to strengthen peace and security across the State.

The Imo State Police Command remains committed to improving security, protecting lives and property, and sustaining peace across the state.
