The Lord said I should tell someone;
He said He's going to do a comprehensive physical overhaul on your body tonight, from your head all the way down.
From now on, you will know the meaning of perpetual joy.

On Fake Products in Nigeria:
I was discussing with a Nigerian nurse who recently started working in the US about medications.
She told me how powerful antibiotics are, and they were not used anyhow in the US.
Gentamycin that we give IV push is given slowly. Gentamycin is
I once had a brother called Josiah. I named my son after him ๐
Josiah was born on February 29th 1996. He was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen in my life as a kid back then.
He came back home with my mom after delivery, so yellow. We were wondering why would a child be this fair & beautiful.
After a few days, my mom had to start asking people if this was normal; people said he was just fine & handsome.
My mom was just not comfortable about his complexion.
There was no money so he was born in a government hospital at the time. She went back there & they said he had jaundice, told her how to do to get rid of it. How I wish we knew better back then.
People told her to use pawpaw to bath him & all sorts; he should wear yellow clothes only. Somehow I still canโt believe we believed all this shit could get rid of Jaundice. Unfortunately the jaundice was doing damage to his brain rapidly. As I later learnt in Pharmacy school, he came down with Kernicterus & eventual brain damage - Cerebral palsy.
We didnโt realize this until shortly before he clocked one.
He began to come down with seizures incessantly, he couldnโt talk, couldnโt crawl, walk or doing anything whatsoever by himself for the next 6 years of his life. My mom would be breastfeeding him & he would come down with seizure, almost biting off her breast. It was horrific & sad at same time.
It was cos of him, I got to know about Valium 5.
He would cry all night, & no single nanny was ready to take him. Not one except a woman in our church who had pity on him. She didnโt do it for the money; she just had compassion on us & did it for us while we still resided in Agege at the time.
My mom did vigils every night, we all fasted.
When we relocated to our house in Ayobo, we took turns to care for him since there was no nanny to agree to look after him. The 2 senior boys, myself & my younger brother would have to miss school one day a week to look after him, my mom would miss work once a week too, and my dad. This was our life for the next couple of years.
We prayed, prayed & prayed, nothing happened except that he would have sound sleep during that period. God was seemingly silent the entire time, no revelations, nothing.
Then an opportunity to meet Pastor W. F. Kumuyi showed up, & my mom believed the end to this affliction has come, Finally.
Pastor Kumuyi laid hands on him & prayed, still nothing happened. Same Pastor whose declaration from a radio cassette raised a dead child right before my eyes? It was at this point I gave up, that this was our cross to bear. God wasnโt going to do this particular one. We all loved him so so much & we were ready to bear the burden all through.
Then one day, my dad came home that one man wanted to introduce him to one baba for a black soap or something. My mom rejected vehemently & wept so badly, that why would it ever get to this point. That week, Josiah at midnight had a seizure & died. God just had to take him at this point; it was clear our strength was failing.
Now the truth is that an experience like this could either make you lose trust in God or strengthen it. It is easier for the former to happen than the latter. However, for us, we were more resolute in God. He always knows best even when it doesnโt make sense to us humans.
However, as believers we must understand that it isnโt everything we pray about that we get answers to. Some we will wait it out till we see God face-to-face & we ask Him, Why?
In 2019, getting a job in the as a registered nurse who is based in Nigeria or any other parts of Afrika and passed IELTS and CBT was very easy. In fact some people got so many interviews and job offers. In some cases, multiple certificates of sponsorship (CoS).
Fast forward to 2022 after the pandemic, the redlist came in actively. A lot of political back and forth came into play, and the cost of exams and other registration fees skyrocketed. Then, job opportunities steadily declined. (PLS RT ๐๐ฝ)
Now, there are nurses who have good experiences, vast in their skills, have passed IELTS and CBT, yet no job opportunities talk more of interviews. Some have had to retake their exams because it expired while they were actively searching (PLS RT ๐๐ฝ)
Despite this, some persons still manage to get job offers, and nurses' feom overseas are still managing to relocate with these same opportunities. How are they managing to do this?
I have spoken with almost 500 nurses in the last few months, and one thing stood out; their personal statement and cover letters, amongst other things.
Here are some websites that will help you prepare an outstanding personal statement for that job application.
