Ivan Masawi, the FDC flag bearer for Youth MP for Eastern Region, said that in previous years the position has often been dominated by wealthy families or those connected to ministers. He emphasized that leadership should be for everyone who deserves it, providing a voice and platform for young people from all parts of the country. Masawi argued that leadership should not be โsoldโ to a few families, but that delegates should vote for leaders who can truly represent the youths of Eastern Uganda. Regional Youth MP polls will be conducted tomorrow (January 28) countrywide.

"Corruption, greed, nepotism are things that are making Ugandans more disgusted in the leadership of our party ( @NRMOnline) in government...I'm speaking to you this because I know you're my shield. My church told me to be honest. ...I've told this to the president (@KagutaMuseveni). If we don't control our greed on how we use public resources, how we steal with impunity, then Ugandans will push us out of power"- @TodwongR, then deputy Secretary General of NRM on April 6, 2018

"I was singled out and targeted by security operatives because I turned down an invitation to go to the State House to meet President @KagutaMuseveni. Some of my colleagues went. They wanted me to declare that I support Mr Museveni. When I declined, they disqualified me from the race for city councillor," one of National Unity Platform (@NUP_Ug) supporters, after security operatives brutalised him as the party president, Mr Robert Kyagulanyi, aka @HEBobiwine, headed to the venue for his campaign rally in Mbale City.

The debate at @nbstv missed a crucial element without @NUP_Ug candidates, draining the event of its significance.
I can feel your pain and even our Ivan Masaba will not face off with your @HuduHussein
