Before Tibo did the reset, I was actually trying to burn through my limits and it felt like they were lasting longer.

Now that he gave us a free reset, it seems like the limits are being consumed a bit faster again. I’m already down 5% without doing any heavy work. Could just be my usage though.

I normally don't do these things but this guy is really special!

His name is Lito (@avioesemusicas) and he's famous in Brazil for making really fun airplane videos, I watch them all the time too

He explains how airplanes work in normal ELI5 language, and also explains airplane crashes etc, lots of people credit him for helping them stop being scared to fly as Lito showed how safe it is

If you ever read Hacker News, you know about prions, which they love to discuss, they're one of the scariest things you'll ever read about, as they can flip seemingly at random in your body and cause Creutzfeldt–Jakob, a terminal disease

I'm Dutch so we had a big outbreak of mad cow disease in the 1990s when I was a kid and I remember it well. You can get it from eating infected meat (but it's very rare), or prions can flip in your body randomly and cause it, or you can have surgery and one of the surgery tools can have it on them from previous patients

The issue with that from what I read is that it's close to impossible to wash off, and it won't die at extreme heats either, you just have to throw away all surgery tools (which you can't)

85% of Creutzfeldt–Jakob is a randomly flipping prion though, so that's most probably

Anyway, Lito here can participate in a promising trial by @Harvard @broadinstitute @ionispharma @mayoclinic but the next batch is only in October, so he's hoping the internet (like this tweet) can help him get in earlier, so he has a chance

And that trial hopefully helps us find a cure for this crazy disease

Looking at my usage history, I didn’t even use ZCode for 20 minutes across these 2 days and I already burned through more than 20 million tokens. So even those promised 100 million tokens would probably disappear very quickly too.

The limits are way too aggressive for actual coding work.

@zcode_ai Total scam. Still haven’t received the promised 100M tokens. The $18 plan is terrible too, it barely lasts 3 basic prompts. Really disappointing experience with ZCode.

@Zai_org offered 100M free tokens to new users, so I created an account and even paid $18 for a plan to play around with it.

Sent 3 prompts.

That’s it. My 5-hour limit was gone. 😂

Easily one of the worst AI subscriptions I’ve ever paid for. GPT and Claude at $20 absolutely destroy this plan in terms of usable limits.

And the best part? Still no sign of those 100M free tokens.

It’s a start, at least they said something. But I’ve never even heard of this sub2api thing.

We've investigated a few messages about codex usage limits being different. That's not something we change without engaging the community and being transparent.

What we did see is that when talking to affected users many were using sub2api. Converting a subscription into api traffic to then re-serve or share across many users is not something we support and this type of usage gets flagged by our fraud-prevention systems.

You are completely fine if you use your subscription through Sign in With ChatGPT, either through the official clients or through one of the many OSS clients (Pi, OpenCode, ...) that support signing in with your account and using your included usage.

@OpenAI could at least say something about the usage limits. Confirm it, deny it, explain it, just communicate.

When it’s time to ask for feedback, the posts come fast. Would be nice to see the same energy when users are asking what’s going on with the limits.

@TJeparskis @kenshii_ai Same here. And if we can’t really use the strongest model, what’s the point of keeping the subscription? At that point, you might as well use a Chinese model. We use the most powerful model we’re paying for, and two days later the weekly limit is basically gone.

Thinking about switching from the @OpenAI Codex 5x plan to @cursor_ai $60 plan. The limits are starting to master more than the model quality itself.

It’s pretty noticeable here: even on the 5x plan, if you use Sol heavily, you get about two solid workdays out of it. Using only Luna can make the limits last longer, but the whole point is that we want the strongest model for actual work. If I’m going to use only Luna, I might as well just use DeepSeek.

🚨 Codex users might have just taken a massive nerf.

NerfTrack estimates the ChatGPT Plus weekly limit fell from roughly $160 → $80 in API-equivalent value in just a few days.

Even Pro users are reporting their weekly quota disappearing in 1–3 days.

OpenAI might have cut Codex limits in half without much warning.
