PKR will probably suspend him after the disciplinary hearing. They are perhaps under pressure to suspend or sack him, but knowing him, I am sure he will not bother to appeal the decision

How can PKR be so dumb as to take action against its most outstanding Parliamentarian? How did he smear the party’s image? Was he trying to resurrect the image that had been soiled for a while by speaking out?

He is outstanding because Hassan speaks on complex issues ordinary people want to hear. He speaks on matters of public interest, which is rare in the country. How many parliamentarians do justice to their oath of office to defend the Constitution and speak without fear?

One PKR leader says he should channel his views to the party first and not go public with whatever he wants to say. So PKR expects its parliamentarian to notify the party first with whatever he wants to say in Parliament.

Will he be allowed to speak after receiving the okay from the party? How long does this censorship and filtering process take? This process is probably the only one found in a parliamentary democracy in the world

PKR is now a party that has disappointed a lot of people. It was once a flag bearer of free speech, democracy and the rule of law. Today, it is a hollow shell of a party that once energised many people like Hassan to join. Any action taken against Hassan will be a loss to PKR

Southeast Asia is completely dominated by its seven largest metro areas(Jakarta/Manila/Singapore/KL/Bangkok/Hanoi/HCMC),

They comprise 12 - 15 % of the regional population, but make up 80 % of the entire regional GDP.

This is one big difference between Southeast Asia and say China/India/America. Southeast Asia lacks a distributed urban hierarchy tier, its megacities and bust. In that way it’s a lot more like Africa.

It’s few genuine Tier 2s like Surabaya/Penang/Chiang Mai contribute about 15 % of economic value.
