Punch the Monkey celebrates his first birthday today
The orphaned Japanese macaque, known for finding comfort in his orangutan plush toy after being bullied by other monkeys, has since settled in and made new friends with the rest of his troop
Meet Neo. You will never see a Lion like this in the wild.
What you are looking at is the result of what happens when humans interfere with nature for profit, a Lion bred in captivity through deliberate inbreeding, showing the physical malformations that follow when the most fundamental biological boundaries are repeatedly crossed.
In the wild this never happens.
Nature built a system to prevent it. Male Lions are expelled from their pride at around two years old before they reach sexual maturity. The expulsion is not gentle. The pride's dominant males drive them out. They wander, sometimes for years, before fin
Neo was rescued from the substandard conditions where he was born. He began living safely under specialised, professional care at a wildlife rescue sanctuary where his unique medical needs could be managed.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PUNCH! 🐵🤎
Punch, the orphaned monkey at a Japanese zoo that stole many people’s hearts by clinging to an orangutan plushie, marks his first birthday today, July 26, 2026.
He now has friends and is no longer holding on to the toy.
Punch was abandoned by his mother after his birth a year ago, presumably because of exhaustion. Zookeepers nursed him and gave him the toy to develop his gripping ability, something newborn macaques need to survive.
Now, Punch mingles and plays with other monkeys at an enclosure at the Ichikawa City Zoological and Botanical Garden. (Wire photos) | via Associated Press
If there's one prayer many of us share, it's this:
May our parents live long enough to see every dream we've been working so hard for.
And when that day comes, may we finally be the ones telling them, "You've done enough. Let us take care of you now." ❤️

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY, PUNCH! 🐒💝
The viral baby Japanese macaque Punch turns one year old today, July 26, 2026, at Ichikawa City Zoo in Chiba Prefecture, Japan.
Punch went viral in early 2026 after captivating hearts online for clinging to a stuffed orangutan, which became his constant companion after he struggled to bond with the other monkeys.
An appeal to all who take action: please stop the non-stop repetition of dissemination of graphic video contents of the sadistic event. It serves no use, it only serves a shock value and it misses the goal. I also kindly ask that you refrain from tagging me in those horrible videos.
The goal now is to pressure China to implement accountability in the form of legislation, to see justice served and new victims prevented!
The goal is NOT to topple CCP. That is NONE of our outsider’s business – that is a decision of the people of China.
That horrible footage was shot for entertainment purposes: to turn the poor animal’s suffering into a sadistic pleasure trip for perverted audiences. You are feeding energy into that evil by continuously re-uploading it; plus you also risk alienating people who would otherwise be part of support, not to mention: the footage is intensely traumatising.
I understand your rage - but this is counterproductive to the main objective.
I deliberately did not look up the whole footage, out of respect for Wang Wang! I want to preserve her as whole, to be remembered as a beautiful, loving momma dog, a symbol of innocence, without ignoring the facts of what has been done to her and her adorable furry babies, for those facts speak for themselves and are too graphic for words, not to mention - surrealistic, since the level of cruelty is beyond my mind’s ability to comprehend.
I will also not be part of any continued hatred, for I refuse to be defeated by people who act as if they do not matter as human beings. I will also not partake in the dissemination of their private info and locations or hurl insults. Why? Because I respect myself! I will not let them drag me to their level, for I find the bigger picture more important: to help the animals whose lives need to improve asap!
Priority now is convincing Beijing that implementing of legislation for animal rights will make them look extremely good, will offer innumerable benefits, and will win them the respect of the world!
The rest is none of our business. It’s as simple as that.
Thank you for understanding, for your passion, and for not staying silent.
With deep respect,
Elektra
