@LilaGracies@stacycay@kerricolby Puberty blockers have been used on cis kids with precocious puberty for decades. It delays the onset of puberty; it doesn't prevent it altogether.
@Eva_B89@MaineWrexhamFan Yeah, my family never pressured me to have kids (thanks Mom!), but I know I'm unusual. If I assumed an individual 60-something person were doing this that would be unfair, but it's not stereotyping to describe a common pattern.
@DemonDogDiva@GodsLibtard@transgoblin0v0@glacialquestion As someone with a Complex Previous Medical History(TM), I'm used to standardized medical language by now and just find it kind of funny, but it looks pretty dang dehumanizing if you're not used to it.
@DragonCobolt It's actually also poisoning me. But this doesn't mean I get to go STOP WHINING ABOUT THE PLUTONIUM and ignore it. I should deal with this cursed inheritance like an adult.
@DragonCobolt and I have negative emotions about that, but "guilt" isn't really the right word? I don't feel responsible; it was over a century before I was born. But it's like I've inherited a lump of plutonium that's poisoning the neighbors. It's not my fault....
@univrsle@oldenoughtosay If we end up doing formal wedding invitations, I'm definitely sending my tiny nephew one of his own addressing him as Master LASTNAME, but that's one of the very few contexts in which children are ever referred to with formal titles. Normally it just doesn't' come up.
@univrsle@oldenoughtosay (And today of course we have "Ms" to try to take some of the focus on marital status out of the picture, and someday we'll get a gender- and status-neutral honorific past the inertia of tradition.)
@sunflowertaters I can't go through a 20-pound bag of something before it spoils or something starts eating it, but I can go through four 5-pound bags of it.
@sunflowertaters If you're going to go through it slowly and/or have chronic pest problems, getting many small containers is more expensive but possibly better than getting things in bulk.
@suchnerve I wish interfaces had both. I haaaate graphics-heavy ones since half the time the easy! intuitive! interfaces leave me clicking around going "ok, and what does this random geometric shape do??".
The abundance and diversity of invertebrates at Manu in Peru is absolutely mind blowing. This Lichen Katydid (bush cricket) is one of the most outstanding inverts we have seen.
@AdamantDimak@SC0NSTI0 There's an audiobook of Catwings read by her, and she has one of the most lovely reading voices I've ever heard. If you want your anarchist grandma to read you a book about winged kittens, find this audiobook.
@tanzinavega At this point they're good enough at faking Human to end up sounding like a really unhelpful, incompetent human, so I get annoyed before realizing that there isn't a person on the other end.
Political candidate fundraising text writers, I'm begging you: tell me what your candidate is running for. If you insist on buying lists of everyone who's donated to X type of candidate, you can't expect them all to know who "Jason" is.
