As a former two-term President of the Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria (CYON) in the Army Chaplaincy, I didn’t need a second look to recognise this as a poorly fabricated forged press release.

The forgers in Aso Rock and their team of failures are now clutching at straws.

CYON is trending because yesterday APC influencers circulated a forged statement impersonating the CYON, as Catholic Youth Association of Nigeria, to condemn Cardinal Onaiyekan for criticizing Tinubu.

Idris Zekeri busted the amateur forgery, being a former President. Fake logo, fake website, fake motto, fake name (CYAN) and non existent signatory.

The authentic Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria (CYON) released a disclaimer statement signed by;

National President Kizito Eze, National Chaplain Rev. Fr. Maurice Mbeke and National Secretary Francisca Adesokan.

It condemned the deliberate desperate impersonation attempt by individuals of the purported CYAN, to mislead the public, while reserving its right to pursue legal action and declaring the letter null and void.

This fake publication is traced to notorious political blogger, Ayofe.

Who in February published a “Breaking News” of Seyi Tinubu sharing 2020 palliative in 2026 as Ramadan relief. Which according to his own colleagues, wasn’t his first time publishing fake stories for political relevance.

Somehow in 2025, he won the political communicator of the year at the APC progressive summit.

ICYMI: Catholic leaders recently met with the President, and publicly claimed he was unaware of the depth of hunger and poverty in the country. This prompted presidential spokespersons Daniel Bwala and Bayo Onanuga to launch a defence campaign, accusing the Catholic leaders of partisanship.

Nigerians find their reaction quite ironic, because the same Cardinal Onaiyekan was widely praised by the APC when he criticized the Jonathan administration.

As many wonder what changed, and why the Presidency will pick a fight with the Catholic Church, the leaders stood their position.

When he ran for governor of Lagos in 1999, name of employer was Delloite. When he ran for reelection in 2003, name of employer, Delloite.

Years later, some Nigerians suspected something was wrong, and subpoena Delloite to confirm if he actually worked with the company. But Delloite said they don't have any records of ANY Bola Ahmed Tinubu or Bola Tinubu as previous employer of their company.

Since then, oga refused to fill Delloite in his @inecnigeria forms. E don give Delloite chance.

In any serious country that alone will be thoroughly investigated till the end, but agencies that are supposed to investigate this are standing on a criminal mandate.

It is time to take legal action against Lawrence Okoro over his claim that you forged the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) certificate submitted to INEC. He should be required to present credible evidence to support such a serious allegation.
