My administration is committed to expanding the tree canopy throughout Jacksonville. In partnership with @JTAFLA, we are taking an important step forward to ensure trees are going in at some of our most heat exposed bus stops. Trees are infrastructure and today represents an important investment in Jacksonville’s green infrastructure.
I would encourage everyone to check out our “Tree Planting Dashboard” here: https://t.co/irqiph9JZr. You can see countywide exactly where trees are being planted, down to each City Council District. We are on pace to reach our annual tree planting goal of 2,500 trees for 2024 and we’ll keep that up next year and beyond.
For decades, @sulzbacherjax has been changing people's lives for the better in Jacksonville. It was inspiring to hear some of their extraordinary stories last night at Transformations 2024. I'm grateful for their support on our city plan to reduce homelessness and for everything they're doing to build a brighter future for all our citizens.
