Why would anyone be surprised by this or think it’s LG or TVs only?
Reading the fine print during setup and disabling these features is the first never miss step.
And while it would be more scary 😱 if it was happening when supposedly disabled, there are additional steps you can take to segregate and filter data on your network to minimize or eliminate any unwanted data exfiltration…at least with the current ‘AI’ level of consumer electronics. 😎
Also found out about it in 2011 and helped my then 14 year old son convert his old computer to mine it.
Later his hard drive crashed. And since his coins were worth much less at that time than it woukd have cost for hard drive recovery, he thought a great way to ensure any other sensitive data couldn’t be recovered was to use his hard drive for target practice with his .270 along with a few other old drives.
Needless to say he regrets his youthful decision today!😢
And I also deeply regret not buying a couple hundred dollars worth of coins that my employer at the time requested I not purchase and my sense of duty made me refrain from purchasing. 😭
Never get tired of Sabine’s videos.
While we’re all waiting for the real answer, at least the next time you face plant after tripping over absolutely nothing, you can just just say:
“Don’t worry… I’m not clumsy, I’m a highly advanced entropy-maximization device.
The universe is proud of me!”

And I was referring to global point to point latency. That’s where the $ always flows.
Do a bit of research on stock exchange fiber evolution.
