6th grade travelled back in time to the European Middle Ages! The day opened with a costume march into a theater decorated with scenes from the tenth or eleventh centuries – a medieval forest, a feudal farm scene, a Catholic Church altar, and a castle throne room 🏰

The Westminster Camerata took flight in its very first performance with the Metropolitan School of the Arts at their 10th Annual Showcase at The Vault at Capital One Hall in Tysons! 🎻🪇🪇

6th and 7th graders presented independent projects at the Science Fair, a highlight of the upper-school curriculum, providing a practical and engaging platform for students to investigate and explore the scientific method 🧪🔬

We celebrated the 149th running of the #KentuckyDerby with a special luncheon for K-4 boys and their moms (or other special guests). The couples, dressed in their Derby Day finest, enjoyed picnic fare, themed games, and dancing! 💚🏇

The 6th grade merged their history and French studies on an outing to the National Cathedral and lunch at a French bistro! They saw many features of medieval Gothic architecture, including pointed arches, stained glass windows, vaulted ceilings, and flying buttresses🏰#wsgriffins

Westminster’s 1st graders held a ceremony, gathering around the island fountain to watch butterflies they raised take wing. During their life science unit, they learned all about butterflies and life cycles! 🦋🌎

4th graders celebrated their year-long study of the ancient Greeks! They opened the day with a series of crafts, had a Mediterranean-style feast, and also competed in team Olympic games 🏅

Carrying on a decades-long Westminster tradition, the 7th graders journeyed down to Richmond on a visit to Agecroft Hall, watching a presentation on Renaissance daily life in England, touring the house room by room, and examining reproduction artifacts! 💜💚💛

The 8th graders delivered a triumph with their production of South Pacific! Enhanced by a gorgeous, colorful set and costumes, as well as outstanding dancing, the Class of 2023 wowed the audience with the sophistication of their show ✨🌴🌊

Members of the Westminster Orchestra participated in the prestigious District 10 Solo and Ensemble Festival. Of these Griffin musicians, 17 of them received Superior rating with blue ribbon awards, and 2 of them received Excellent rating, meriting silver ribbons! 🎻🎹
