When CBS Reporter Margaret Brennan tried to outsmart Medal of Honor recipient Will Swenson, she got an answer she didn't expect.
BRENNAN: "Before I let you go, we are coming up on this 250th anniversary of the American experience. I know I can't ask you a question like, are you optimistic? What specifically makes you optimistic? Because this country, at times, can feel dark, these days, there's a lot of darkness. What makes you feel optimistic?"
WILL SWENSON: "Well, ultimately, because we're in Washington DC and everything revolves around politics, we have to remember that politics aren't everything. American lives continue on. Children are born, children go to school. Lives are achieved. Dreams are achieved. This country is a great place. It's not politics. It's not just what's the news bites coming off of media. Ultimately, we continue forward as a country, continually imperfect, continually evolving forward, always trying to achieve a more perfect union. That's what's important to remember, what we can achieve aspirationally. No other place in history, time or on this planet have ever gotten to where we are today. We need to be proud of that, and we need to remember that is what we stay focused on, what we can be."
🚨#BREAKING: A police officer in Phoenix has rented out an ENTIRE 144-SEAT MOVIE THEATER for over 100 middle schoolers after their end-of-year field trip fell through, so they could see Toy Story 5.
When they got there, he realized many couldn't afford popcorn or drinks...
..so he bought EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM popcorn, candy, and a drink too.
His name is Sean Reavies,
For many kids, it was their first time ever inside of a movie theater in their lives.
When the kids asked how they could pay him back, he told them:
"As you get older in life, help other people. As a payback to me. Would you do that? That's all I ask of you."

The first auto brand to make a pickup with ZERO TECH will sell out so fast it'll make their head spin. No brain, no GPS...just engine, transmission, rear end, and get the hell outta my way:)
@maddenifico Wait, Dan Rather , the guy who faked “evidence” to smear Bush? Yeah, definitely more credible than someone who left a great paying gig on principle and created something even better…
@beauhightowerdn I have a nodding acquaintance with a billionaire. I am incredibly thankful for their contributions to our community. I have friends who know this person better than I do and they have a spectrum of experiences.
It’s probably tough, in some ways, to be a known wealthy person.
I swear I meet smart people all the time now who seem to think that the advantage of having a relatively free America for so long was to bootstrap an even better totalitarian system than the monarchies and dictatorships ever could have dreamed of.
