@Rogue_Stereo@Tim_TimeLord@majishinett@Mike_from_PA No, and I never claimed I knew the law better than a judge. I actually said the opposite…..that this is above my level and that I’m a layman. I was just giving my personal opinion, so I’m unsure what you’re upset about.
@Tim_TimeLord@majishinett@Mike_from_PA You might be right, and this tentative win suggests that you are. I do understand that intent alone doesn’t determine fair use, but I can’t imagine it is legally meaningless, as you seem to be suggesting. Nothing has been adjudicated yet, so we will see.
@Tim_TimeLord@majishinett@Mike_from_PA All this is way above my pay grade, but as layman I would assume saying “I’m doing this to steal views” strongly suggests the use is substitutive rather than transformative.
@majishinett@Tim_TimeLord@Mike_from_PA It is kind of wild tho how people can nefariously and openly say “yeah I’m doing it on purpose to steal views”. It doesn’t seem “fair” by what do i know.
@DanguiLeTitan@Its_Zaebos@AaronJordan@KantInEastt You are talking about logic and then you argue about spending centuries to genetically modify dogs lol. My point is that being able to turn dogs into livestock doesn’t mean we should. How many dogs have you eaten?
@DanguiLeTitan@Its_Zaebos@AaronJordan@KantInEastt I think morally, chickens and cows can produce large amounts of food per unit of land, feed, and energy, unlike dogs, which are not part of that food production system and therefore don’t serve the same utilitarian function in human nutrition and agriculture.
@Its_Zaebos@DanguiLeTitan@AaronJordan@KantInEastt That “designation” isn’t just a label, it’s shorthand for a system of stable roles in human society and production. It reflects we’ve developed specialized relationships with diff domesticated species based on traits temperament trainability reproduction rate economic efficiency.
@DanguiLeTitan@AaronJordan@KantInEastt We consume animals that are part of an agricultural food system, we don’t consume animals primarily used for companionship or labor.
