@DDun93 @NWSGSP 😂😂 yup, its been a process. I feel "NWS Greenville SC" would be the best- I feel Spartanburg isn't quiteee as known outside the upstate (esp to newcomers), and the SC on the end to differentiate it from other Greenvilles in the country

@GamecockSmoke @NWSGSP NWS GSP covers a number of cities in NC, including Charlotte & Asheville, as well as a decent amount of area in NE Georgia. As a GA native we're kinda wired to think "GSP" = Georgia State Patrol. Would defintiely help clear up ambiguity overall.

@XtremeSWMeck @NWSGSP imo, I think they would need at least a radar in Charlotte in order to add "Charlotte" to the name, if not a satellite office. The closest NWS radar & office to CLT is over 100 mi away

@DDun93 @NWSGSP I live in Iredell County NC and moved from Georgia, it's taken a bit to re-wire my brain that GSP means Greenville-Spartanburg and not Georgia State Patrol

@NWSGSP I think "NWS Greenville SC" would be the best. GSP is a bit ambiguous as an acronym (and some people may think "Georgia State Patrol"), but Greenville-Spartanburg seems a bit too long. Plus seeing just Greenville at first may have some people get confused with other Greenvilles
