A tidbit: A bill from @charlesallen that would legalize passenger service in Waymo and other self-driving cars will get a first public hearing in the D.C. Council on July 13. That would put a first council vote in the fall, since there’s a two-month summer recess.
Welp, that happened faster than I predicted. Thought it would be end of 2027, then early 2027, but agentic traffic growing so fast that bots have now passed human traffic online for the first time in the Internet's history. https://t.co/2zX5bHdhsa

Trump media coverage after the election, which focused on his EV total rather than 1.5% pop. vote margin, created the appearance of a sweeping mandate that never existed.
My unpopular opinion is that there was never a major vibe shift towards Trump after his narrow 2024 win. Trump 2.0 never held consistent approval over 50% and was already polling net negative before his first 100 days. Any vibe shift was exaggerated by the media who think of him as hilarious and invincible.

It's worth reminding everyone that the federal monuments and fountains that President Trump is cleaning up are... federal monuments and fountains that local D.C. officials have no control over! In fact, D.C. officials have long complained of federal sites falling into disrepair.

A proposed law in Canada allowing police more access to citizens’ data faces a growing chorus of criticism from technology companies, including threats that they’ll pull out of the country. https://t.co/SPmlWMybkJ
