Extremely rare “White Auroras” have been spotted over Norway—and the sky put on a show few people ever get to witness.
Photographers out chasing the northern lights expected the usual waves of green and purple. Instead, they were stunned by something far rarer: ghostly white auroras stretching across the sky.
Soft. Pale. Almost glowing.
It’s one of the rarest aurora displays on Earth.
Scientists explain that white auroras occur when multiple aurora colors strike the human eye at once, blending together until they appear nearly colorless. With so many wavelengths firing simultaneously, the brain can no longer separate them—so it perceives white.
Most aurora hunters spend their entire lives without ever seeing it. This time, Norway delivered the extraordinary.
Cameras across the Arctic captured the eerie light spilling through the darkness like frozen lightning, leaving even experienced skywatchers in awe.
Some described it as otherworldly. Others said it looked like the sky itself was glowing from within.
And for a few unforgettable moments, the heavens above Norway became something almost impossible to believe.

Did you know that @dixonmcmakin, who is pushing bills to eliminate the seat of @calvin4clerk, is the announcer for @lsu sports?

Dixon is from Baton Rouge, but he’s working to take away the clerk’s office in New Orleans and, in turn, nullify the votes of thousands of Black people.

During debate, Dixon invoked language that echoed George Wallace, the segregationist former governor of Alabama. That history matters, especially while legislation is being used to overturn the will of voters in New Orleans.

I’m curious how the Black Student Union and former Black athletes feel about Dixon being the voice of the Tigers. President Rousse, you have thousands of Black alumni in New Orleans being impacted by your sports announcer’s actions in his day job.

I’m just wondering if y’all have connected the dots on Rep. McMakin yet.

Never forget what happened on June 14, 2025.

Early that morning, a gunman named Vance Luther Boelter (57) disguised himself as a police officer — complete with a silicone mask, wig, and a vehicle made to look like a squad car. He went to the home of Melissa Hortman, the Democratic Speaker of the Minnesota House of Representatives, in Brooklyn Park.

He killed Melissa Hortman (55) and her husband Mark Hortman (58) inside their home. Their golden retriever, Gilbert, was also shot and so badly wounded that he had to be euthanized.

In the same targeted attack that night, Boelter also shot Democratic State Senator John Hoffman and his wife Yvette at their nearby home (both survived).

Hours after the murders, Republican Senator Mike Lee of Utah posted on X:

“Nightmare on Walz Street” (mocking Minnesota Governor Tim Walz)

“This is what happens when Marxists don’t get their way”

He later deleted the posts after widespread backlash.

On June 27, the bodies of Melissa and Mark Hortman lay in state at the Minnesota Capitol — accompanied by a photo of their dog Gilbert. It was a somber local memorial. Nationally, there was no half-staff flag order on federal buildings and no unified moment of mourning on the scale we’ve seen for others.

This wasn’t just a “bad joke.”
It was a U.S. Senator publicly mocking the assassination of a fellow elected official, her husband, and their family dog.

Political differences are normal.
But when we reach the point of laughing at political assassinations, we have gone somewhere very dark.

We can disagree on policy.
We should never lose our basic humanity.
