Working in international development sector - fundraising. Researching intersectionality between health and education for HIV prevention. Views are my own.
@susancolehaley@susancolehaley this is sad & devastating news indeed. As a fundraiser, I’d be keen to learn the “why’s” & “how’s” incase we (reluctantly) create another AIDSMAP (though I’d prefer resurrecting them as they’ve done a LOT!!!)! Do reach out if needed !
@stevesharra This speaks to a lot of areas including: competency based curriculum, teacher preparation, 21st Century Skills, transformative pedagogies, to name a few. But we also ought to push for STEM subjects as these are key too. The debate here is balancing all this.
@Theholisticpsyc I remember the first time I opened up to someone safe & caring and they said,
'Thank you for sharing that with me. I know that was hard. Thank you for choosing me as a safe person. I feel closer to you.'
It was exactly what I needed to feel safe, seen & heard.💖
🚨Warning: I might go on about this a bit!🚨

I lent someone MK80,000 last year. Today he asked me for another loan. Just above was his last text to me on 24th July, 2023 that read "thanks bro. I will sort you out next Friday." I had forgotten and now i reminded him. He said "oh shit. Thought I sorted you." Then quiet!
